393foureyedfox
catching up on some Breaking Bad. Yay for Neflix getting new episodes.I binged watched the whole half last season when they put it up last week. damn that is one great show. You find yourself rooting for the good AND the bad guy at the same time. And, Ive never said this about any other film whatsoever, but I love the camerawork; it is so totally unlike anything else on film.
SPHINX06
Just had a pour of Pappy at my local BBQ joint. Smoke restaurant in Newport News, Va. Had a bottle on shelf $ 35.00 a pour. EJoyed but the no smoking ban kinda kills the experience. Had a nice Camacho triple maduro in my jacket coat pocket but count light up.

GaryT
Nice pour of some RRSmBSB, infused with some Kona Peaberry beans. Just took one night of infusion to do the trick (and probably should have done a few less beans). But the coffee really brings out the chocolate flavors in this one. Definitely an infusion I'll be making again with something else! :yum:
dcbt
Which Pappy was it? 15, 20, 23?I'll guess the 20... Can't be the 23 at $35/pour...
berto
My office's Bourbon Club had our second tasting last night. We started with Weller 12, moved on to an Evan Williams Single Barrel store selection that was about 10 and a half years old, followed up with Baby Saz, and finished with a private barrel 4R OESK at a whopping 126.4 proof. About half of the group is new to bourbon. The Weller was the crowd favorite though everything polled well. One guy loves Islay beasts and can't stand rye but took the OESK neat and really liked it. It was a fun night. Our first meeting was a bottle share, this meeting had a little more structure, no idea what we're doing for the next meeting. mbroo5880i
Went to the back of the cupboard and pulled out a bottle of John J. Bowman. It is pretty solid. While they are all pretty close due to mashbill, I would probably rank it slightly behind Blanton's and slightly ahead of ETL.
tylermke
Having a before dinner pour of an SA Old Scout Single Barrel 8yr (barrel 92). This is a phenomenal pour for the money and it's a solid 128.2 proof. I think I need to head back and grab the rest of the bottles I left on the shelf. smokinjoe
Got my first try of the 2004 EWSB at the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ event in Atlanta today, and I loved it. They also were pouring the Jeff 21, which was so over-oaked, it bordered on undrinkable, to me. Many others consumed today as well, but the EWSB really shone. I'll be picking up that one ASAP! ThirstyinOhio
I am enjoying a side by side comparison of Col. E.H. Taylor single barrel and Tornado survivor. While obviously similar, the nose and flavor is much brighter and way more burn in the survivor while the single barrel has a fuller mouth feel and more leathery notes. I enjoy both, but today I think I'm leaning towards the single barrel.
black mamba
I put on the movie Shane tonight, and started with a 1-1/2 oz. pour of Bernheim. Second up is a HH blend of 6yo BIB, HMcKBib and batch 1 ECBP. Mighty fine.

callmeox
With the rotten winter that we're all having, a high in the mid 40's today was heady territory here in NE Ahia. Right around dinnertime I got a text from the neighbor with the fire pit announcing that he needed to "burn something." We had our first neighborhood beer and fire pit gathering since before Christmas and it was a blast until the thermometer found its way south of 20 degrees and we all headed home. A GBS ETL took a major hit (and was a big hit) during the festivities. Edited March 2, 2014 by callmeox
