Tonight, a revised SB blend. I had it at 50:50 and it wasn't quite working. Revised it 60:40 (heavy on OWA) and it's starting to sing. I think also that some time to mix and be exposed to air in the decanter has also helped a lot as it's been about a week since the first mix.

Now Grasshopper you are ready to step out on your own. Welcome to the family.

While it has been a while since I have had Jack, I do remember GJ being my LEAST favorite. Have you tried the Single Barrel? I think it's around 94 proof.

Yes I love the Single Barrel, but at $40, I try not to drink it much.

Tonight will be Dickel Rye

Started off the night with a pour of 4Roses Small Batch with my dad. He isn't typically a bourbon drinker...more of a Scotch man. But he was over here and after a beer he was eyeing my whiskey collection and said "I'd like to try that Four Roses" and I told him it wasn't the Four Roses 125th Limited Edition I brought to Christmas. He didn't care, still wanted to have some. He seemed to enjoy it. Got back from dinner and I've had a couple pours of Weller 12. So damn good...

Can't believe I forgot about two highlights of the afternoon. Brett opened up minis of old MM (from 60s or 70s?) and Weller's Cabin Still from the late 50s I think. The MM had wet cardboard flavor going on, but the Cabin Still was some incredible SW. Thanks for cracking those open Brett.

Watching the snow fly(again) with some ORVW 15/107 to ward off the winter blahs. Anticipating a visit to Ryeland after dinner.

Sorry Old Dusty, but I'm lounging out back on the chaise on a Gloriously Sunny 74 degree day, and a nice pour of ECBP with a cube...;). But, I do feel your pain.

I figger I somewhat paid my dues with my 10 years living in Indiana, and with the realization that I'll be in Chicago for 3 days this week...:D

Bouncing around with Rock Hill Farms and EH Taylor so far today. Watching the ice / sleet glaze the area in a rare March arctic blast. Already dreading that commute tomorrow morning.... Yesterday was better at 82 degrees; now it's 22.

I've got barrel 3999 date 4/20/90. Strange a later barrel # w an earlier barrel date.

Interesting, mine is barrel 3947 and dated 5-31-91.

It is good to be among family! Thank you for the welcome.

I'm sipping on this blend again tonight and it is even better than last night. Giving the blend time to mingle and open up really seems to do it a lot of good. Dang this is good.

My contributions to this past weekend's Campout. Also brought Limestone Branch Sugar Shine, Balcones True Blue 100 (a big hit), and plain old WSR (b/c it's not a Campout in Texas if you don't have some Weller).
