WLW '12 - Good thing about these barrel proofers is that they don't take a turn for the worse even with a 3/4 empty bottle and after being opened for over a year. Come to think of it, these last 6 ounces might be best part...

When it comes to Larue, IMHO, the last 2 ounces are always the yummiest!

Had to catch up on the thread before posting my own. 4R1B and WFE 7 year the last 2 nights. The 4R is fantastic and seems much better than the last bottle - even though they were from the same barrel!

Working on thinning the herd over the weekend. Let's see, I killed: Dickel Rye, Mellow Corn, Old Heaven Hill 8/86, Maker's 46. Nearly dead: EW 1783, Ten High, and WT 101.

Just broke my first Glencairn. So I am doubling up on the FRSB that was in it.

Cracked open the FR1B Barrel Strength 9yrs 5mos. A lot of things very right about this bottle. Floral nose, cinammon for sec with a very light alcohol twinge in the nose . Seems to be inline with the recipe so far. Intriguing, spicy tingle on the tongue and lips with same cinnamon note from the nose, sweet and spicy, and bit of oak at the back of the palate. Long, warm, very long and warm finish. I had planned on at least one more drink tonight but this one has me feeling right.

Have not tried Mellow Corn, but everything else is in my wheelhouse. My source for dusty Ten High straight bourbon finally dried up. OHH 8/86 is a beautiful versatile pour. EW1783 is a welcome addition to the MN cannon. Have you tried the EWBIB? I think it is outstanding.

Ten High Ten for the second night in a row it wasn't really that tough of a choice tonight either.

Dickel 9 as I prepare for tomorrow's second test in the first 9 days of the semester. They hit the ground running!

EBSB, Dickel 12, and now some WT101 from '96. Not bad for a Tuesday.
