bingstein
Won't be the thread police and tell you that's not a bourbon. Why? Because I'm joining you with a'12 version of the same. And agree-soooo tasty.I didn't even know there was a rye thread... I'm new to the rye game. Now having a paper label OWA.
BFerguson
WSR 7yr. Made some room in the bar and pulled this out for a change. Picked up a couple before they went NAS.Nothing too fancy, just straight up good drinking.B

393foureyedfox
PUlled one of the HH6BIB's out of the stash tonight, and after I finish the school stuff, I plan to do another SBS with that and the Ezra 7/101 before the Ezra is all gone. Ive about finally cleared out all the near-empties finally.
RVTsteve
I sure would like to know if you notice a change in the profile - I worry that Four Roses product may tend to decline with air-time. (and, uh, W12 in the glass now)No noticeable change for me. Maybe not as hot as when I first opened it but that could just be my exposure to higher proofs since then
Eskwar
After some AM Dant "whisky" (not KSBW; Bardstown '94/80pf in the pre-church coffee), and some PM cocktails w/ more Dant not-KSBW and Wiser's legacy, I shifted to Bowman Gingerbread, Bowman PF, and plain ol' current OGD 114, while appreciating the micro-fiche and -film references in tonight's True Detective. Pudsky
Not looking forward to -40 degree windchills outside at work tomorrow, so I had several healthy pours. Switching back and forth between Eagle Rare 10, and OGD 114. I know weird, but hey they are side by side in the cabinet. Just grabbing a different bottle each time. I like the ER10 a little more, sweeter and smoother, but they are both good pours. DrBob
A pour of ETL and Larceny. Both very smooth, and tasty. Good but perhaps a little too smooth. I like my sippers a bit bolder.
Luna56
Tonight I was gifted a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20, a bottle from about 15 years ago. Of course, I opened it.This whiskey is unlike anything else I've tasted. I can't even compare it to anything, it is that unique to me.Wow. Wow.Now I have to try to get it home (I'm in LA now, flying back to New England in the morning).Wish me luck!Cheeeers!!! Got to keep that solid case in the bunker :toast: I did seriously consider just buying another first, and keeping the case intact, then I wondered why. It seems there is no truth to the idea the came up a few months ago about HH6BIB going away, so why stockpile it? It's good, but I wouldnt put it as great. as to the comparison, Im no clearer on it than I was last summer when I did a SBS with HH6BIB and Ezra 7/101. There is something a bit different, but it is slight....Id be hard pressed to pick them out of a blind line-up. And with the prices being $10 and $17, it's an easy choice given the similarities between the two.
bookman
Last night we finished our first bottle of ETL, my wife's unimproved with anything, mine stretched to a decent pour with RHF.
fishnbowljoe
The winter weather has been awful lately. Coldest winter I can remember in a long time. I decided to have a pour of a weather related bourbon to warm up a little when I got home from work today. A nice heathy pour of EH Taylor Warehouse "C" Tornado Surviving bourbon is really hitting the spot right now.

393foureyedfox
I've heard that rumor from a source I trust pretty well... But it's been kicking around for a long time. They may have bottled a whole lot of them at once?Anyway, I figure I can't go wrong bunkering HH6... unfortunately I don't get enough chances to buy it. I'm with you that it's good but not great, but not everything needs to be great.Basically I guess I'm saying take advantage of that bargain while it exists because it surely won't be forever, be it by price change or age statement removal. r60slash5
First taste 2013 OWV10 107 nose is fantastic rich fruity. Taste is very dry tannic. I like the OWA107 SB store pick I got this year better. It is head and shoulders above nose and taste. There's much more to it. A little time could change things, but right now the rug doesn't match the curtains with OWV.Ted
