I love how there are some ridiculous sale signs right above the bottles in the background of the picture. 2 for $3.99! Where were these bottles, anyway? On the shelf behind some Beam bottles? Tucked away in a corner? Very curious.

Those price labels on the bottles are old school, too. I haven't seen that anywhere in years.

No pants pooping involved but the whiskey experiment slut in me had to buy three of the BTEC barrel proof wheater experiments. Found the 90, 105 and 115. Didn't have any of the fourth one barreled at 125.

All were aged together, more or less, for 11yrs, 7 months, came off the still at 130pf and were bottled at 90 proof.

Top shelf above the counter. Place got their allocation after new year's. Some other guy got the 15 and 20 in a similar discovery to mine. The VWFRR I could almost see through the door while I was outside. It was a pretty quick transaction.

The VWFRR was the one that I would have focused in on. Although, I wouldn't have passed on any of them.

It's funny to think of all the people who waited in line to miss out or paid $$$ on the secondary market, and you just walk right in and right out...with a big smile on your face!

Thanks to help from a SB member, I picked up an Elijah Craig BP (batch 3) today during lunch. The color on this was absolutely fantastic. And I had to still work the rest of the day before opening it.

Was in far northwest Chicagoland yesterday and stopped at a Binny's. I've heard good things, but had never been in one before. I was kind of disappointed, to be honest. They had a nice selection, but it didn't blow me away. Didn't see a lot I can't get at home, nor any intriguing store selections. But I picked up a Larceny (something I've read about on these boards, but don't see on the shelves at home), a Weller SR (not common around here, but not truly rare either - but it was a good price) and HW American Prairie Reserve (also a good price).

Picked up my first bottle of EH Taylor Single Barrel. I've had the small batch before and didn't love it, but this single barrel is really nice.
