Saturday I picked up a Weller12, a Bookers and a Rittenhouse Rye. Hoping to stop by another store on my way home today...

Picked up some EC12. I was going to swing for the EC12BP but I want to re-familiarize myself with the EC flavor profile before spending the $50 the liquor store wanted. I tried EC12 once before, maybe a year or so ago, and didn't love it. But I've found as I revisit things I didn't like that long ago that my tastes have evolved. Stagg Jr and KCSB have really opened my eyes to what barrel proof (or close-to) whiskeys can do in comparison to their "standard" proof siblings. So I'm finding myself making another round through the brands that have something to offer in that vein.

Also snagged another bottle of Dickel Rye out of habit.

if MA is anything like it is in KY, that ECBP may not be on the shelf when you go back.

That thought did cross my mind, but it's been there a couple weeks and it doesn't seem to be moving too quickly. I'll have a taste now and go back tomorrow if I feel the need

ETA: Yeah, I'll be back tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, you didn't happen to grab those from Poplar Wine and Spirits did you?

No sir. Just east of midtown.

Picked up an EWB 1.75L from BevMo, for the "Monday Happy Hour" sale price of $12.99. With the $3 rebate, that effectively lowers the price to $9.99 for a handle.

Last night I picked up a bottle of Wild Turkey 107 for 20 bucks, and a bottle of Jim Beam Black for the same. Haven't tried either, I suspect I won't like them as much as other things.

Wild Turkey 107 huh? ;)

I'm guessing you'll dig the Beam Black since you like Knob Creek. I have not bought a new bottle of Wild Turkey 101 in quite a while but I did recently do a side-by-side with a dusty Old #8, and the current stuff really didn't stand up to the old stuff. You mentioned in your intro post that you don't much care for Russell's Reserve... Can you say why that is?

didn't care for the Russell, not sure why. needs more trying, probably with some ice or water. sorry I can't be more specific. haven't poured myself any in quite awhile.

Enjoying Elijah Craig 18 at the Hotel Congress. Had it last year for the first time here and it's as good as I remember. I tried to buy a bottle from them but it's the last one.

Sorry guy, wrong thread... I could edit but not erase.

WLW '13. Not out but behind the counter. Lesson is never hurts to chat up the staff and ask about special bottles. Even this late in the "season".

Smooth Ambler 10 & SA rye 7 yr regular price and a dusty OF Signature 30% off. I love running out of catfood; two liquor stores between me and Petsmart. Running out of places to stash my stuff.

 Good one!

If the liquor store owners begin to ask you, "Damn Harry, that's the third time this week...how many cats you got?!?!"...it'll be time to make a change... :D

A Bulleit for me today, that unfortunately, continues to disappoint me.

No joke. If the Mrs decides to snoop around in cabinets, I'm going to have a lot of splainin to do. I've had to resort to keeping my latest purchases stored in the trunk of my car despite the current sub-zero temps outside. Today picked up:

1) SA Rye 7th ($34) - apparently the SBOtM recommendation of SA Old Scout drove it all from the shelves!

2) Rittenhouse Rye BIB (22)

3) not bourbon, but Balvenie 12yr Double Wood ($42 - cheapest I've ever seen around here)
