No_Reception
I got a PVW20 at the Pappy Palooza today. 4th ticket called. $140.
tanstaafl2
After mentioning in an another thread that I had the BTEC extended stave drying time 15yo bourbon mentioned in the recent Whiskey Advocate spring buying guide preview but not the standard stave to compare it to I noticed that it was sitting there in a picture of something else. Went back to that store and it was still there along with the extended stave version. Picked up one of each and left another set of 2 on the shelf if anybody is curious about these interesting but pricey little buggers.
jeffrey r
Picked up a couple of bottles of EC 12 and BT single barrel selects. Great bourbons at great prices.
perryw
Picked up a local shop's selection of Eagle Rare on Friday. I really enjoyed BT, so I'm looking forward to this one.
smknjoe
All ten different recipes of the 4R SB. A big case of ECBP 66.6, minus one to my friend. And a good Willett 6 yr bourbon. That looks more like 4 cases of ECBP. Nice haul Hugh. I hope to see a flight of all 10 recipes in the near future.
Clavius
Tonight I bought a Liquor Barn selection of a Four Roses Single Barrel 10 year old OBSQ. Barrel strength at 118.2 proof. My first foray into the realm of Four Roses' 10 different recipes... Edited February 16, 2014 by Clavius
gobills23
Picked up 4R 125th, ORVW 10 year and a Weller 12 locally for a little above MSRP. Passed on a 2013 Handy for $125, just couldn't justify spending almost twice the MSRP for it.
fishnbowljoe
I grabbed a couple of bottles of BT for the bunker yesterday, just because. The price was right too. With the price on most stuff going up, it was nice to see the BT was still only $23.00. Probably should have bought more than two. You know the deal? Coulda, shoulda, woulda….. PaulO
The funny thing about the store with the overpriced Saz, they have relatively normal prices on some items they don't consider special. I ended up getting Old Fitz BIB @ $14.99. Also, I noticed JTS Brown there too. I'll probably go back for that. I went to a different place and found Charter 101 well under $20, and EC 12 @ $22. I was mad at the first place (big box near the mall). I didn't go there for a long time. Lately I'm more of the opinion, have a number of stores to visit. If a price is ok get it, if they have something too high leave it. I can also fully understand SB members that take a stand, won't go back (with or without giving a lecture). Tony Santana
ER10 store selection and BTEC Extended Stave Dry Time. Saw someone else post about the latter, checked out the Whisky Advocate list/review, and remembered seeing it a week ago. Went back, it was still there. Vosgar
I got a PVW20 at the Pappy Palooza today. 4th ticket called. $140.Just curious.....did you get it at Ray's? If so, how many people showed up?
soad
Old Ezra 101 7 year....$14 in Ohio....Can't see this lasting long in the present climate, so I'm stocking up.
No_Reception
Yes I did. About 120 people there. They started handing out tickets at 8:45. At 9:15 no more tickets. I got there at 8:30. One guy got there at 6am, he did not win. The majority of winners were 10-20 numbers off of mine. I joked about flipping the bottle in the parking to the highest bidder(to my friends) and also about chugging the bottle in the parking lot with a liter of coke for a chaser(to everyone). the prices were fair on all VW and BTAC stuff. But they were also raffling 11 bottles of Stagg Jr. for $52. Which I have purchased locally for $35. I don't mind paying a bit more for VW because of the insanity that surrounds it. But paying almost $20 more for something that is available elsewhere is, to me, a ploy to get people who don't know a lot about bourbon to buy something that the liquor store associated with VW and BTAC; that did bother me a little. Just curious.....did you get it at Ray's? If so, how many people showed up?
smknjoe
Stagg Jr. is $45-$49 here. Retail is supposed to be close to $50. So, you are getting a deal at $35. I've never heard of anyone getting it that cheap.

I was there, also. Got there late - about 9:00 - and was expecting a long line. Was surprised to walk right in. Didn't win nuthin' (was 1 number off once !). Was pleased to see the prices to be proper. (Where'd you find Stagg Jr. for $35 ?! - usually 49.99). Ended up buying the overpriced Parkers Heritage promise of hope with the 10% off sale and a VOB handle.
MtnDew
Picked up two more 133.2 ECBP bottles. For some reason my local bevmo keeps getting them in stock. I don't need anymore but they make great gifts. I left two more on the shelf for others.
No_Reception
Ah I LOVE Promise of Hope. I was told they have quite a bit of it as well. And yeah it's about $20 more than I have paid at Otto's and Discount, But they'll have it for awhile and I like it enough to pay a bit more for it.I got the stagg jr at Avenue. I've seen it go for $80 at Discount.
