P&MLiquorsEric
To be fair to the orphan barrel products (not the people who buy solely to flip), the place I bought them is usually under retail. I got the whole Van Winkle line (minus the rye) from the same place and every bottle was between $8-$19 under retailSounds like across the board markups in a state with low wholesale taxes. For KY prices to be below msrp, markup would be 5-10% which is unheard of in the booze biz.

Harry in WashDC
FRSB Bourbon Steak OESQ to go with my FRSmB which I love. It was an impulse buy. I was picking up a Smooth Amber 7 yr to replace the one I just finished.
P&MLiquorsEric
So what do you think they will go for here, Eric?7-10% above msrp. Since diagio is involved, might be higher. Our taxes are high but not crazy. I think management of RNDC and SWS keep prices artificially higher. They will all cite the added wet areas as the reason. Same amount of product going to more areas. I won't sympathize with them as they have an effective monopoly on each product they distribute. Just like our legislature wants to bend over backwards to offer horse tracks the first opportunity to have casinos. Let them bid like everyone else. flahute
Just picked up two EH Taylor Barrel Proofs (well, they arrived in the mail today). I like the Small Batch and Single Barrel so these theoretically are a no brainer.

Ravensfire
Grabbed an OGB 114 last night after sitting in the store for 10 minutes somewhat pissed about seeing the '09 OFBB for $90 (hell no!). ItsJackNow
Picked up ETL (last one standing) and an ECBP batch #3 yesterday. Slept better knowing I have a couple backups of each now.
unclebunk
Just a simple ol' bottle of Heaven Hill BIB for tonight's Chicago Blackhawks-Pittsburgh Penguins "Winter Classic" game at Soldier Field. An excellent "session" whiskey to go along with the JTS Brown BIB. Can't wait!
tylermke
It was a pretty good day of hunting: ECBP 133.2, SA Old Scout Single Barrel 8yr, Bookers 25th, Ritt 23, (2) 2011 THH, Michter's 10yr bourbon (11D necktag). The last stop yielded some pretty good beers as well. Now to sit down and enjoy the fruits of my labor.

horn1602
I caved and picked up a Booker's 25th as well as what will be my last POH purchase. Didn't intend to purchase either. Must have been the lowered inhibitions from the Boulder Strong Ale Fest earlier in the day.
Old Dusty
Hunted N KY a bit while over there for soccer. TPS, Cork & Bottle and some smaller places. The big boys had fine selections but nothing that made me pull the trigger. Did grab a lonely W12 in a smaller shop for the bunker. Also got three kinds of Fee Bro bitters. One was whiskey barrel aged does that count as a bourbon purchase?

393foureyedfox
I went to do some porching with some friends before my wife and I, and most of the porch crew, went to dinner. The hosts are ET and OF86 drinkers, but one of their friends keeps his own bottle of EC12 at that guys house. So, I picked up a bottle of HH6BIB and left it there so I always have something I enjoy as well. Also, my best friend lives next door to them, and his wife's b-day was yesterday. Her favorite is B Hayden, and she'd yet to have any OGD 80. They were out for a b-day celebration elsewhere, so I grabbed her an OGD 80 and left it there for them. Damn, it was hard to find any OGD 80 today! I went to three places before I found any, and even then, only in a 200ml bottle. They all had OGDBIB, but no 80 proof....so I had to get the 200ml, as it was the last likka sto on the way to their house. I would've thought it'd be everywhere.
