just curious, do you prefer the gold HH BIB over the white BIB? both are a steal, but with the white 6 year being less than a $1 more, most people go for that one.

I haven't had either yet, but I thought the 'white' was 80 proof, and thus, not BiB? I could be mistaken, I'm basing this only on Binny's inventory at the time we placed the order. Curious to compare it to other cheaper HH, BiB offerings.

HH Gold Label tastes to me like they just grabbed random barrels from all over HH rickhouses, blended them, and just saw what came out.

I love it. Maybe its coincidence (the color perhaps) but for some reason it reminds me a bit of a harsher AAA10year (which I also love).

Bought the last bottle of EWSB 03 off the shelf at my local. Not sure if I've got some sort of SBS in mind here. Wouldn't surprise me.

I took Whisky Advocate's advice on the BTEC Extended Stave Drying Time. I also stopped at my local honey hole intending to finally pick up a Lot No. 40 Rye. I did that, and as I was waiting at the counter, I noticed that 4RSBLE 2013 hiding behind about a dozen half drunk bottles of wine. Naturally, I asked the guy if it was for sale. He said he wasn't sure, so he got permission from his manager. Feller tried to scan it, came up with nothing. The line was getting pretty long at this point, so rather than keep everyone waiting, he just sold it to me for the regular 4RSB price of $34.99. If it were any other store I frequent, I would have felt bad. But as I have mentioned previously, this is the store that sees no issue charging $800 for PVW20, $1000 for PV23, $400 for VWFRR, $300 for Eagle Rare 17, $200 for Lot B, $150 for ORVW10, etc. Capitalism goes both ways I guess. Regardless, REALLY excited to try the 4RSBLE. I've been kicking myself for the last 8 months for missing out on it when it came out.

Early valentines present from my wife....new William Heavenhill from the HH gift shop. Funny they didn't number it, which likely means they bottled a crapload.

I found two bottles of Elmer T. Lee still sitting on a shelf in Chicago, and they came home with me. I haven't seen it for about two months, so I was stoked.

A chain grocery store in my city has been expanding their bourbon selections. Today they had Old Weller Antique for the first time. Brought 2 bottles home.

there is a white label 80 proof HH, that looks a LOT like the white label 6 year BIB. I dont know if Binny's has the 6 year, but if they can get the gold label, I dont see why not. The gold isnt bad at all, just a little younger and harsher.

no, its not bad. To me, its very similar to Fighting Cock but with more of a drop in bite than youd expect for only 3 proof points

on a side note, next time you guys do a group buy, try to get yourself (in addition to a white label 6 year BIB) one of the green labeled 90 proof HH's. Thats a real steal at $9

Wow, that is pretty cool! Seems like an interesting option. Just curious, what other bourbons do they carry?

Picked up a bottle of Very Special Old Fitzgerald. Thought I would give it a try since I have not been able to find any Weller 12 for several months.

Thanks, I will keep my eye out. I assume it will be a tag on the bottle like the last time they had a rebate?

Let us know what you think. I passed on this on my most recent trip to KY. It was close but I opted for some store selections. I might want to pick up a bottle on the next trip.

yip. one per household this time instead of two like last year. Its not my favorite or even close, but a 1.75 for $21 after rebate is a steal

Most of the main brands, for example Beam, BT, EC12, EWSB, EWB, and ryes like JB Rye, Templeton, GD Rye. Plus JD and GD12, etc. Also first time I saw RittBIB there. They started with about 4 feet of shelves across, 4 high, and now have about 8 feet across, 4 high. I had a EWSB 2014 in my hand, when I spotted the OWA.

Got my first bottle of Elmer T Lee today. Just have to make sure it doesn't find its way to the empty bottle thread too quickly!

Picked up another Booker's roundtable edition 2013-6 from Costco for under $50. It has more than a year of extra age compared to the standard Booker's I see around.

Booker's 25th Anniversary edition. Love Booker's so had to have this one. Probably keep it around for awhile before opening.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Balcones True Blue. Enjoyed it enough that I've always planned on getting a bottle. The melt finally started here in Atlanta so I wandered up to my local to browse around, he had the best price I've seen by about $15 and I had to do it.

Guessing this bottle will last me a long time, but glad to finally have it on the shelf

Picked up a bottle of Smooth Amber Old Scout, 6-year 99 proof, based on the comments on the BOTM thread. Looking forward to trying it tonight. Also picked up a bottle of Blanton's for a gift.

I picked up some cheap age stated ones. A couple of Henry McKenna 10 year selected single barrel from Hi Time for $24.99 and an EWSB selected 2003 from Hi Time as well for $23.99. I've heard really good things about the McKenna from there...time for some blind tasting!
