Love footy, this is our third of three soccer playing kids. And I have a "D" coaching license as well. We are actually back home as they scratched the Sunday games due to the impending wall of snow. And I agree on the Crossroads selections. This is the second one and both have been great. Though I favor the 9 yr wheated.

JB single barrel showed up in the stores here. Pickup two bottles along with JB white, a Black, a Signature 12 and the spanish brandy finish. So I can have a nice little comparison of the line.

Barterhouse (liked it a lot, going to try to get another for bunkering)

Evan Williams SB 2004

Knob Creek SB (good value for the proof)

Stagg jr (haven't tried it, haven't heard great things, but for $50 at barrel proof it's worth a shot)

Also a couple OWA that we're sitting on a shelf; I figure if it's still around in the future it'll be more expensive and/or younger, so might as well buy now.

Picked up an age stated 1792 and Fighting Cock. Actually never had FC, so I'm curious. I'm going to try it against Old Ezra 7/101 to see if they are similar.

I think OE101 is more along the lines of HH6BIB than FC. I think FC tastes higher in proof than you would expect of 103 proof. That said, I do like FC. It has the HH profile that I generally like and is nice on those nights you want a bit more heat.

Picked up a Barterhouse and Rittenhouse 25 year Rye. The Rittenhouse was sitting on the shelf for the last 2 years, and the Barterhouse was being put on the shelves, ironic in a way.

Yesterday was mostly a beer day, and I picked up a several individual bottles of various sizes. I needed something to keep them from bouncing around in my basket, so I grabbed a NAS 1792 and Weller 12 to use as bracing. Its not my fault they don't have cardboard carriers designed to efficiently hold a variety of bottle sizes. The wife failed to appreciate my ingenuity and ability to use available materials to solve a problem.

We were pleasantly surprised by the 1792. Its been a while since I tried a standard bottling, but this one seemed richer and better balanced than I remembered.

Picked up the last 4 handles of W12 embossed wheat that I knew of still floating around town. Bottled around October 2006. I went to pick up a sixer afterwards at Specs and laughed out loud when I saw how transparent in color the current W12 appears. No comparison...

Yeah I picked those up at Specs off walnut hill. A guy at Sigels told me that specs is the only one that gets them in Dallas. If you ask for Rudy when you go there he had a couple set aside for me that I ended up not buying because I found 2 sitting on the shelf (unless he sold them already). Good luck!

ETL x 4 I haven't been able to find any in Dallas and one store told me it was discontinued due to his passing last year. Don't know if it's true but searches on line found none in most every state. So thank you ABC in VA.
