Yes, unfortunately a common cry since Mr. Lees' passing (combined with the seemingly across the board shortages now being experienced with many of the BT house brands).

I haven't seen it on the shelves in Indy since spring. I think it does make an occasional appearance in Southern Indiana and Kentucky. I am assuming that the discontinuation of AAA10 will help address this problem.

It's mostly gone around here in Louisville as well. I know where a decent amount of it is sitting on shelves, and I keep telling my friend (of which ETL is his favorite) that he had better go buy it all, as it may be some time before more is made due to the selector's passing. Someday, he will regret not going there and getting it, but he's been warned!

ETL is definitely getting scarcer around here. It's got a great name, a great story (especially with Mr. Lee's passing), and brings a huge bang for the buck at under $30. It's got what it takes for enthusiasts, while not being "too much" for novices. Add a general industry shortage, and you've got the makings of a real scarcity.

ETL (mostly barrel selects) is my third most bunkered bourbon, behind W12 and OWA single barrels. Would hate to be without it for any extended period of time.

I just listened to an old interview with Mr.Lee regarding his bourbon. It doesn't seem like he has that much of a hand in selecting the barrel but he tastes them at random. I don't forsee them stopping production with the passing of Mr.Lee. On topic thought, WL12 absolutely flew off the shelves in SoCal and now can't be found anywhere in California.

here's a COLA from November. Note the proof change, in addition to the other changes. Looks like it might be a limited run?

Proof change to 93 - ETL's age at death. Nice tribute.

A proof change we can all respect.

That is really cool. Even with loads of private ETL in the bunker, I'll definitely grab the first one of these I see.

Always nice to get a little bump in proof. Will be curious to see what the inevitable concurrent bump in price will be. Especially since they didn't elect to add an age statement as well which would have been nice!

The fact that it is specifically noted as a "commemorative" bottle seems to suggest it might not be an ongoing thing but hard to say for sure. Time will tell.

changing it and then leaving it at 93 proof would be the honorable thing to do. No one would complain, and it'd be a classy tribute.

Starting a new thread here due to too much thread drift in the Weller 12 thread.

Thanks for the new thread.

I've been to three stores in the STL area this week and no ETL. Today, I actually talked to the distributor because he was at the store and he said it's been really hard to get. So, I ordered some on line tonight. Hope the order goes through.

As for the new bottle, I hope it gets wide distribution because I'm definitely in.

Elmer T lee has been gone for some time here in KY.

This could be a special edition or a reason for a price increase and making it a "periodic" release a la stagg jr.

ETL is now a no-show in NWGA and the distributor has told them he doesn't know when more will be available.

Just snapped one up at a store yesterday, it seems to be vanishing lately, so didn't think it would hurt to add to the collection, even though I have one unopened one already.

I hated to contribute to the "rush" but I bunkered a few bottles for myself. I hope a commemorative bottle comes out and it is something special.
