It didn't last long but was poorly timed. I'm back in the game now though.

Had some JDSB at dinner, took a 90-minute round trip drive with a buddy, finished the evening off with some 2013 Pappy 20.

First time I've opened it up since December. Still fantastic, caramelly (is that a word?) and lush, but tasted a little "greener" than when I first opened it up. Not a complaint, just a different taste than before.

A couple of pours of Bulleit while playing board games with friends. Its interesting after a 1.5 years, as it was my gateway to drinking bourbon without adding coke. Its still a passable bourbon, but there are lots of better options in its price range. I still have a 1.75 stuck away and some in a decanter that I give to people who want mixers.

Poured a generous pour of VSOF-12. I used to like it better than this particular bottle....Is it me? Maybe?

I followed up with a small pour of Ezra B SB, which I find very nice ....and surprisingly consistent. Of course this bottle (and the one before it) is about 3-years old, so maybe it ain't that swingin' anymore....

Moved on to some OC10 Louisville. Been open a couple months now... Started off a little harsh, but now it is just buttery and delicious.

As I'm feeling frisky tonight, I thought I'd challenge one of my non-favorite bourbons to see if anything has changed, and maybe it might turn around for me. Didn't work. Still cannot get into Weller 12. Thin, astringent, and ashy. But, it mixes wonderfully with OWA in an SB Blend. So, all us not lost.

CEHT Single Barrel tonight. I like this one a lot, but not for the price. The small batch is close enough in flavor profile for me and basically half the price.

Started off with W12 tonight. A good value pour. Is it me, or this getting harder to find these days. Finished with WT Tradition. While I didn't care for it at first, it's starting to grow on me. I was really feeling this tonight.

Killed off a bottle of EWSB 2003 tonight. Enjoy the stuff but don't love it. Always tastes just a little 'thin' to me.

Revisited the vatting of 4R GS OBSQ (50%), store selection OESV (25%), 4RYL (25%). I am REALLY enjoying this combo, really hit the spot, just delicious. This comes in right around 100p or just a touch over.

It ain't just you. I have an unopened bottle that I have been hoarding for about a year. Won't open it until I find a replacement bottle. Paranoid about it going the way of AAA 10YO.

Ended the night with a buddies $170 Dalmore Mackenzie Scotch.

both quality pours, but I think I got the better deal!
