Guy Debord
Ordered a fish sandwich, Schlitz, and an OGDBiB for lunch on Sunday at a restaurant, sooooo good. I'm going to keep that trend going all spring into summer.
GaryT
Did a blind sbs tasting of some WT101 "Old No 8 Brand" (1996) against some current WT101. Hands down, I preferred the current stuff over this particular bottle (odd as I love dusty Turkey!) Drowning my sorrows in a healthy pour of the dusty one as it begins its march to recycle land more quickly now
smknjoe
Good to hear, Gary. I love dusty Turkey and have not had the current stuff. I need to put that on my shopping list.
smokinjoe
HH William Heavenhill BIB Smallbatch 11 yr. Nice pour, with a very viscous consistency. It's a big whiskey from nose to finish, and seems even higher proof and older aged than what it is, which ain't small by any means. It's a very handsome bottle, despite having that copper wire and smashed copper do-dad with "Bottled In Bond" stamped on it, like the old "craft project" McKenna BIB had. Had to use 'em up somehow, I guess! Now, HH's challenge is to figure out how they're going to incorporate 500,000 4"X4" pieces of green velvet into their next release! 393foureyedfox
Took my exam today, and feel good about it, though wont know results for days. Mrs Fox asked how I wanted to celebrate and I said I wanted BBQ and bourbon, so we went to her friend's brothers restaurant, a great little BBQ joint in southern Indiana called "Feast", where I ordered a slab of ribs, baked beans, tater tots and a double Old Ezra 101 neat. Having been too nervous to have eaten much all day prior to the test, the Ezra did a number on me, and the food was awesome. Then I came home and fell into a bourbon and BBQ induced coma for an hour. Cards fan
Tucker: is that label a misprint? I wouldn't imagine 11 day old whiskey to be that great. It has to be 2011 like your post suggests right? I couldn't imagine Jim Rutledge would let that get through. How was it? I'm looking forward to cracking my OESV bottle. Even though they are identical from that barrel that's still cool you got bottle #1.

Tucker
That makes much more sense! Thank goodness. Asked and answered, so I'll add that at 118 proof it needed a little water to smooth it out. Hot. And, if I recall correctly, every bottle on the shelf was "1 of 167" .
