I went to one store and was able to clearly see that they had some ETL commemorative edition in the back office. I was told it was all reserved, but that they had a bottle of Saz that I could have...for 15 over MSRP.

Since I saw that the ETL had hit town, I went over to my favorite store. There they told me I could have as many bottles as I wanted - so I picked up 3 and left 3 others for someone else. Oh and I picked up a bottle of Saz from them for good measure (at MSRP no less).

Picked up a liter of Larceny at 29.99. The local store has been out of Weller 12 for ages, which is/(was?) one of my daily pours, and I have been meaning to reinvestigate Larceny anyway.

I really dig it and it has become a regular pour when my friends drop by to watch sports or barbecue. To a person, everyone has really enjoyed it and the price is definitely right too.

Picked up a 4RSmB on sale for $25. They also had a few standard issue ETL, which I haven't seen there for a couple months.

Came upon a couple of bottles of the new Bowman Double Barrel sitting on the shelf of all things. Because of the price I wasn't sure if I wanted both but most reviews seem reasonably positive. So I tried to talk myself into buying just one but was unsuccessful...

Curious to hear your thoughts on that one, Bruce. Price prohibitive for sure, but Bowman hasn't let me down yet personally. Even really liked the gingerbread someone brought to the sampler!

That would be me! Unless there was more than one. I brought a bottle of the Gingerbread for the table amongst several others. Thought it might get finished but I think I brought at least some back home. The nose is delightful to me and the whiskey is fine but I didn't find much of the nose carried over to the palate. The Port finish, particularly the most recent one, has been my favorite so far but I missed out on some of the earlier AB's.

Well then thank you sir! And I do agree that the nose was the best part, but the whiskey itself tasted quite fine itself.

Picked up a bottle of Rock Hill Farms and a 4 pack of Canadian Glencairn glasses for the office. Sometimes I can't wait until I get home.

Are you going to Crown's downtown store tomorrow to pick up that award winning OBSK?

Don't believe so. Family plans tomorrow. I love OBSK in general so have to admit it's very intriguing.

On my yearly derby voyage. I always drive most of the way to Louisville the night before so I can hit distilleries on Thursday before the track. Picked up three OWA, a Liquor Barn Hancock's Pres Reserve, and a HH White label. Hoping to score some good stuff tomorrow. I love this trip.

Outside of the distilleries, most places will be bare of the "good stuff". The sampler was last week. 4R lmtd sgl brl is delayed. Private barrels might be your best bet.

Yeah, figured as much. Was hoping to catch a 4R gift shop pick at least. I've decided against buying the WT Diamond after reading all of the negative reviews here.

Grabbed a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel on my lunch break to keep in my cabinet at work as my stuck-at-the-office-late booze. Only have one glass left of my Glenfiddich 12 yr. that had been my work go-to for a while.

Went over to Willett this morning and picked up two bottles of their 11 yr old WFE. Surprised to find a wide assortment of WFE at the gift shop, since in recent months they had little to none when I checked. Prices have gone out of sight. 20 yr WFE is now $300/bottle and 23 yr WFE is $375. Last year I paid $179 for a 20 yr WFE and thought that was grossly excessive (although the bourbon was outstanding). Girls at the gift shop told me the new pricing doesn't seem to have slowed down buyers, at least so far. Although I know this is someone else's distillate, every WFE I have tried has been very good to outstanding, so I like to enjoy an occasional bottle. But I doubt I'll be drinking anymore 20 yr old, that's for sure.

This makes me sad. I was there 3 weeks ago and all they had were the 4yr and 25yr rye. I had the former already, and the latter was way out of my price range. Wish they had more selection then.

Picked up an ETL 93 and a fellow GBS member grabbed me a bottle of Bowman Double Barrel. That rounds out everything I wanted to get this spring (except for the the 4 Roses LE SB). Still on the fence on that one as the F yeast can be hit or miss for me.

Where? Maybe a phone call regarding my barrels is in order.
