DaveOfAtl
SAOS 10 year. First one I've grabbed. I really like the 7 year old rye so I figured this was worth a shot.

smknjoe
Maybe they are splitting barrels between customers so there's more to go around? That would possibly explain why the store in IA was told they would only get about 60 bottles from a barrel.
Infidel
of course if there is a second bottle of the EC available I would like to get my hands on it... hasn't appeared in Austin - but if someone knows other please let me know. Will be making a trip to Houston and possibly one to Dallas over the next two weeks.Today- Knob Creek per request of better half, and Beam Rye. Thought with the rye, if I don't like it - pour it in a gallon jug with some Stavin Oak Cubes charred with something high proof, add O2, shake, put it in a shed for the summer and try it when I get back from India. Last try of some white dog picked up great spice.
Paddy
Just couldn't pass up a family size handle of age stated VOB BIB to add to the bunker. Left a couple of age stated 750's on the shelf.

flaminiom
I found a bottle of CEH Taylor Jr Barrel Proof. Too expensive, but I like it. I have this idea in my head that someone is going to declare this a Stagg alternative and it will go all Weller/Pappy.

I have this idea in my head that someone is going to declare this a Stagg alternative and it will go all Weller/Pappy.I asked about the availability of CEHTBP last winter somewhere and the response I got was something along the lines of "It's going to be the next Pappy." could have been a wanna-be-flipper, who knows. I would have preferred a factual answer to a speculative one but this is just to say there are others who either share that view or hope for it. amg
Grabbed a couple private selection FRSB's for $46 each. One is OBSO at 107 proof. The other is OBSF at 124 proof. Both are 10 years + some months. It's pretty amazing how different they taste from one another.

Well, for one I can't get it in Michigan, so that's one motivator to grab it when I see it. Second I do get the feeling people are going to connect the dots on the mash. And I like it. So, I've got a few bottles. I should be good. At least until a new batch comes out.

unclebunk
Picked up a few more "session" whiskeys since my hockey-loving friends tend to drink in serious quantities when they come over: VOB BIB, HH BIB, JTS Brown BIB (my new favorite when outside smoking ribs which I plan to do this weekend) and OGD 114 to usher in this week's warm-up here in Chicago. pmirish
Did you pick up that SAOS at the downtown Crown? What are the odds they still have any of that?I did, and it seemed like they had a few cases behind the counter with a row on the shelf. Would call before going to double check.
