After a brief panic over having zero bourbon on-hand, I was tickled to find a short jaunt to the CVS cured what ails me. Mini WT101 should cover tomorrow :D

Last week or so have picked up a SAOS 7y Rye, SAOS 8y Crown Liquor Store selection, the Crown Liquor 4R competition winner, and an Elmer comm bottle.

Good pick ups! I love the SAOS 8 Yr. I picked up another bottle last week. Did you find the ETL Comm at Crown or somewhere else?

Me too! You don't see that back in Georgia!! Thankfully, Phoenix is more progressive in how they approach beer/wine/spirits :)

While on the road today, I was able to pick up another handle of AAA 10 yr for the bunker. :grin:

Also grabbed a SAOS 7 yr, as I have been passing a lot on this and finally felt that I should give in (based on all the good reports here). I'm looking forward to giving it a go! :drink:

at least here in KY, the few CVS's that have liquor have a fairly decent selection. It's where I found half price closeouts on KCSB and HH 6 90 proof. If youre in the right place at the right time, and they decide to stop carrying something, they put it half price at the end of the row. The selections have gotten a little more homogenous lately though, as theyre trying to stock what sells best.

Thanks Doug! I get over there once or twice a month, so I may give you a shout. I'm finding it for 41 or 2, but the stocks are dwindling (as you know).

A tight budget has inclined me to thin out the current herd before buying anything else, but I saw my first Weller 12 in quite some time and so snapped one up. They've raised the price by about $5, but it was still only $30 out the door, and you can't complain about a 12 year old whiskey being $30.

Just found the Russell's Reserve Single Barrel KL store picks live on their site and ordered one. Went with lucky #13 out of the 3 that are currently in stock. Wish it was possible to sample first so I could pick the right one.

Interesting that CVS removed all tobacco products a few months ago but still sells alcohol in some states ... I guess lungs trump liver ... :rolleyes:

I often buy liquor on Sunday from CVS.

You still have to wait till 11:00 AM for CVS in Chicago (and a bottle of Beam or JD with a big black cap :grin:) but the City Council just allowed Sunday liquor sales as early as 8:00 AM, from 11:00 AM, but the 3 extra early hours only applies to "supermarkets" with not less than 10,000 square feet of floor space and more that 25% of the space to retail other than alcohol including fruits, vegetables, meats and poultry.

Ah, the wonderment of it all, some things are irresistible. The first time I visited New Mexico some years ago saw a liquor store with a drive through window directly across the street from the motel.

The wife commented, "you are dropping us off first, aren't you?"

another Bookers 25th for the bunker. It was $80.99 cheapest i've ever seen it anywhere so felt compelled to grab it. Stuff just hit NY finally. My ETL got delivered today though so thats what I'm going to be focusing on for a bit.

Got a Weller 12yr from a fellow SB'er. Can't wait to try the SB blend as well as sbs with old weller and special reserve.

I was thinking the same thing; it's hard to know which one I'll like based in their descriptions. I also picked up #13. And #14, and #19...

Stopped in to a True Spirits I've never visited before.

Grabbed a bottle of A. Bowman Last Millenium that I have high expections for,

and a bottle of Old Whiskey River that I have very low expectations for...
