I'll tell you one thing - I'd love to pick an 8 year old Turkey barrel. More than about anything else.

Hit a few different stores I don't frequent on my way home on a whim.

Grabbed a Stagg Jr. (they had lots on the shelf) at standard retail.

At another store I grabbed two bottles of WFE 8-year old (barrel 6165, 117.6 proof) for what is probably the going rate now. First time I've seen any of those on the shelf this year. Gonna have to give it a side-by-side with the store-selected SAOS 8-year I picked up last week.

I too would like an SAOS 8 year to try side by side with the 8 year WFE i plan to open upon passing state boards next month.

thats kinda what i was thinking. i got the WFE 8 year last october for $59, and had heard that it has shot up since then, if you can even find it.

im thinking that may be the only WFE that ever comes in my house again........with WFE's unavailability, price hikes, etc.....combined with the extremely positive reviews Im seeing on SAOS products

Not sure. They are usually $50, but with a "Shopper's Card," they are $45 (the card is free to sign up). They have an OBSK, OESV, OESQ, and OESO. This is my first taste of the B-Mashbill and it is absolutely incredible.

I've seen a couple stores here do FRSB PS bottles for $46, but they don't come with a free glass! Nice find.

Picked up a store selection 4RBS OBSO and OBSQ today. For good measure, I also snagged a RHF.

Monger saw me come in and these were discussed and put in hand before I even made it into the bourbon aisle.

He tried to get a staff guy to go get me a basket and I told him "hell no" let me leave now while I'm still happy! :grin:

This right here is my problem with Wild Turkey. They send the damn distiller out to the store, but they won't let him say anything that isn't vague and misleading. Around 8 or 9? So it's 7 at the most, right?

That said... I really want to get a good bottle of RRSmBSB.

That may be more my issue than his. I think we will know the exact age when the barrel arrives but I just couldn't remember what he said. I think the RRSmBSB on the shelf can be a range of ages that are not specified on the bottle.

Oddly they stick to the 110 pf even though the sample was only 112.9. Wish they would just bottle at barrel proof.

If it was Eddie's issue, I suspect it was really his Italian bosses' issue.

I think it's great that store select RRSmBSBs are starting to show up.
