Wow we bought the same thing today. ECBP and McKenna 10 yr here as well. This is my first time with ECBP...it is amazing. I took a small taste of the McKenna (also a first) and wasn't too impressed, maybe it will grow on me though.

I've found with a couple bourbons I don't care for them until about 3-4 pours into the bottle and they start to grow on me. EC12 and 4RSB come to mind.

The McKenna does better after getting some air IMO. First couple pours weren't that great then I came back to it after a month or so and had a much more favorable impression. Though there are always variations since it is a single barrel.

The ECBP acquisition concludes my months long search for it at sub $100 pricing ($54 in this case).

Traveling for work. I found a Batch 4 (132.4 proof) in Fort Wayne sitting on the shelf. It was the only one they had. It was at a chain store so it is possible that other stores might have one. The price was $42.99 so I bought it.

I also picked up a store select Evan Williams Single Barrel 2003 for $23.99.

I was pretty happy to walk out of the store with two very good Heaven Hill bourbons for $71 including tax!

Went into a local chain to get some Eagle Rare and happened to notice on their discount/new stuff rack a bottle of Elijah Craig BP, batch 4. Grabbed it after a double-take (limited releases are normally pure allocation or lottery in St. Louis). One of the workers noticed my double take and laughed a bit. Apparently they'd gotten an unexpected extra case and two went to folks that they'd given a bottle to they didn't have the initial release and just put the last out on the shelf for the folks that actually walk in the store, not just hit the blog/website.

So ECBP batch 4 and Eagle Rare went home with me this afternoon. Not a bad day.

Randomly went into a new liquor store in my area to say "Hello" and see what offerings they had on the shelves.

To my surprise, they had a couple of bottles of ECBP. Grab one for myself and left one for someone else.

Needless to say, it was a very pleasant surprise.

Well...maybe I will drink some now. :)

FR SiB LE 2014 at the Lawrenceburg gift shop. $110 + tax. I was there in April and put my name on a reserve list. I was #88 out of 100 allowed, one bottle per person.

Having mixed feelings. This price is above my normal per bottle limit. I went ahead and bought it knowing I could always PIF later on down the road.

Not bourbon, but I got a Bernheim small batch wheat whiskey. Normal price $50. It was 25% off and I had a $5 off coupon. Figured it was worth a shot at $32.50

when it rains...it pours. Was trying to scale back a bit to save some money but ended up stumbling on a few things i wanted and couldn't pass up at their prices. FRSB LE 2014, a Wild Turkey Tradition and finally a Bookers roundtable batch (which i've seen around but finally found it for $49) Thinking im going to do a Bookers 25th and Roundtable side by side tonight.

Brought home a SAOS 10 yr, FRSB LE 2014, and figured I'd give Larceny another shot.

Nope...out of state. One of my stores got 2 and were very nice to give me a call. Feels like everything in NY is on a delay, i still haven't seen ETL Comm. (or reg) and Booker's 25th hit like 2 months after everyone else.

Thanks. I know a spot in queens that has ETL reg.

Pick up another Old Weller Antique 107. Going to try mixing it with my Barterhouse since I'm never interested in drinking it. Maybe the 107 will add some pep to it.

A store by me just got in an ETL barrel selection so I bought one since their other selections I've tried have been pretty good. Didn't know BT was still offering barrel selections of this due to shortages but apparently they still are.

That must be one of the last Private selection ETLs to roll out. I've only tried one private selection ETL and it was outstanding. Enjoy!

I bought a replacement bottle of Four Roses private selection from a local store. It's an OBSO at 106 proof and it's very good...which I suppose is obvious since I bought a second bottle.

3 bottles of ECBP to add to the bunker. Picked up my first one the day before and it was the best bourbon i've tried yet( keep in mind i'm new to bourbon, but still have tried about 14 different at this point). Had to put in a good bit of leg work to come up with these.
