dcbt
Local store got some RHF in stock. I was going to try to exchange a bottle of Blantons for one. Any thoughts? It's virtually the same bourbon, just different proof and aging warehouse location.
bourbonfoot
It's virtually the same bourbon, just different proof and aging warehouse location.Right, same mashbill and all. I've read slightly older and obviously proofed up. Just didn't know if anybody had any comparisons.

kjbeggs
Decided I should probably grab another Booker's 25th (as I really like it), so I stopped the last place I had seen a few bottles. Alas , I was too late.Had been craving Manhattans all day, so grabbed a bottle of Willett Rye.
393foureyedfox
I am curious.........with everyone raving about Booker's 25th......were you guys already fans of Booker's, or has buying the 25th anniversary release made you (or brought you back to) into a Booker's fan? Seems I so rarely heard Booker's comments before the 25th was released.

jmj_203
After being a complainer about Pa controlled state issues, I came home happy tonight. Simply asked a store to try to get me ETL, the awesome woman there mentioned one of the other men works other pa stores and they would see about bringing me some from another store. Tonight to get an OGDBiB and they had 3 ETL for me. I have my store, yeah I bought a lot the past month but the staff made my day tonight.

jeffrey r
Grabbed an EC21, and a Bowman Port Finished at lunch. If that is the 12-year port finished, I really like that one. Great bourbon.I just picked up a Stagg Jr. 2nd batch for $50 including tax. Wasn't really looking for it, but came across a lone bottle and picked it up. Still have some of the first batch around. I like it quite a bit to vat with BT single barrels.

gooneygoogoo
Yep, the 12-year. I've now got that one, the Gingerbread, Last Millennium, and the recent Double Barrel.Recently did a blind SBS with those 4. In my mind the Port and the Double Barrel were the clear winners

In my mind the Port and the Double Barrel were the clear winnersI thought the younger 7 or 8yo Bowman port was pretty good as well. A younger whiskey but more time in the port barrels (8 months versus 4 months) which had previously been Bowman barrels. The port had spent more time in the former Bowman bourbon barrels in the younger one as well. 2 years versus about 15 months.
