You have a pretty good bourbon buddy.

Yup. He's great and I only buy from him exclusively. :)

And it sounds like your loyalty is rewarded.

Picked up a 4RSB hand select from my local LS. OBSV, delicate fruity yeast. It is hotter than hades here today but had to try it! Pretty good!

I picked up some Smooth Ambler Old Scout from a store in Philly while I was in town for work. Don't see that stuff much in Texas. Can anybody point me to a place where I can find a little more info on what exactly I bought (or tell me)?

All I know is it's a 7 year old 99 proof bourbon, batch #60, bottled by "Sarah" on 3/4/14.

Their 7 yr 99 proof is really good. I expect that you'll enjoy this one quite a bit.

Oops, it looks like I posted too soon. Just found the 2/14 BOTM thread. Very informative. It sounds like all of the currently available stuff is LDI, unless I'm mistaken.

Also just opened the bottle. Very tasty. Great nose does remind me of FRSB, but the taste is a little hotter and a little lighter. Good finish. I've seen the comparisons to WT 101, but I'm not sure I've actually tried that one. This stuff is definitely enjoyable though.

Added two more bottles of Bookers 2013-6 to the bunker. I've been quickly working my way thru my open bottle so when I saw the price of $39.99 how could I resist? :)

Grabbed the local Whiskey man's Smooth Ambler selection. Just came in today. Barrel # 666, 8 year, came in right under 55%. Can't go wrong with these barrel proofers that come in under 110 proof. Pretty tasty, got to try it at the shop. Not overwhelming great, but a very good solid pour for under $40.

struck out looking for Weller 12 today, per usual. I stil have not been able to try this SB blend. I did find a Mccarthy's Single Malt from an '08 bottling so that's a plus at least

A regular bottle of ETL. Don't know if it's for me or for the Bourbon Club at work. I get to drink it either way.

Whenever I see a shelf stocked up with new supply, half the bottles don't have the boxes. I like the look of the box, but to me they're just something else to recycle.

The metal-capped cardboard cylinder tubes from other bottles (usually scotch) are occasionally useful for storing things; my mom hates whiskey, but loves the tubes for her knitting needles.

Picked up a bottle of Rhetoric (20 year) and a bottle of ECBP batch 5. Never saw the batch 4 around Atlanta but have seen batch 5 a couple places recently.

Stopped into a random store I passed returning from a meeting because I needed a pop...honestly was only for the pop...figured I might as well take a look at the shelves.

In passing I heard another guy asking the owner if they had anything from the BTAC. Chuckled to myself a bit, and then struck up a conversation about BTAC and the Bourbon craze. The owner said they had some stuff in the back the hadn't hit the shelves because some local bars/restaurants had first dibs, but he told the other guy he could take a look.

When he returned I asked him if there was anything good, and he said only some ECBP! My eyes lit up because I have been looking for this for awhile. Owner said he shouldn't sell any of them, but he could probably sell one bottle. The BTAC Guy thanked him but said he would pass, and offered to me. Turned out to be a nice guy. Never asked if he was SB member, but if he is, cheers to him for the gesture.

Now I have something to do tonight!

Hadn't picked up anything since the Sampler, but I found a FR2014SBLE to keep the vertical growing. Also managed to bring a Kenwood SAOS 8yr into the fold.

Like John I picked up the same thing. In fact we happened to be in the same store at the same time and I think we pretty much cleaned out what little was left with our bottle each of these two!

Just couldn't resist at least trying the Rhetoric before deciding whether to blow it off. A little more than the Barterhouse which I find to be a decent deal at MSRP for a 20yo even if it is a bit watered down.

The ECBP Batch 5 was just a bonus!

I'd love to hear your opinion on Rhetoric comparing it Barterhouse.
