Paddy
CEHT SmB and SB blend. Just cracked the Taylor and had a few drops. About three fingers of the blend. Mmmm.
BootsOnTheGround
Knob Creek Single Barrel. I bought this one a couple week backs after a thread here on SB made me wonder why the heck I don't have a 9 year old, 120 proof expression of Beam.Man is this a big bourbon. Very sweet delivery, with the signature KC heavy oak and spice finish. I must have snagged a particularly good barrel, because there is damn near zero alcohol burn. Hard to believe its 120 proof. I've had many a regular KC bottles with more heat than this one. I'm impressed. Now you're reminding me why I posted that in the first place and still down own a bottle. Stuff is thick; delays the "kick" of that 120 for about 10 seconds. Reminds me of PVW 15, not in taste profile, but the overall experience of nose to finish. Great value under $40. Eskwar
Stagg Jr tonight to calm the nerves. 5 days until the bar exam  Good luck! I tackled that myself 16 years ago next week. I'll toast to your pending success with a variant of the same mashbill you're enjoying.
HD 335
Now you're reminding me why I posted that in the first place and still down own a bottle. Stuff is thick; delays the "kick" of that 120 for about 10 seconds. Reminds me of PVW 15, not in taste profile, but the overall experience of nose to finish. Great value under $40.My first experience with KCSB 9 was a Bevmo select and thoroughly enjoyed it. I emptied it in less than 3 weeks and your description of the delayed kick is dead on, I felt that this whiskey was truly an experience not expected for a $40 bottle. Went for another but they only had the standard release which wasn't a sweet and more oak forward, with a slightly shorter finish. Then about 2 months ago I saw one last bottle at a Bevmo A bit further than my usual stops so bunkered that one.
ewj
sb blend tinkering, so I had 40/60 50/50 and 60/40 owa/w12. funny that I'm leaning towards the w12-dominant mixture, since I used to pretty much hate w12... I just feel like it's the best sipper without any alcoholic burn.

GaryT
Cracked open the GBS FRSB picks (OBSK and OESO) for a small sampling of each, and believe we done good. Day of the pick, I think I liked the OESO more, but the OBSK is shining brighter at the moment. Although the combination of the two . . . definitely going to make a small sampling of that to do a 3 way tasting some other day. I think I may like that best of all! :yum:
Harry in WashDC
Had the cork out of WT RB 108 (which I had last night) then a nonbourbon - Bernheim - winked and called to me. Sorry, WT. Maybe next time. Looking at those nice wheat legs right now.

HD 335
After a meeting, knowing it would be a slow day I decided to take an extended lunch. First time trying OFBB 2013 and although not a bourbon, I got reacquainted with the previous release Michter's 10 year rye. Barrel 7G1

mbroo5880i
Stagg Jr tonight to calm the nerves. 5 days until the bar exam :bigeyes:Wow, big time! I wish you well. Professional exams are so stressful. Enjoying some Stagg Jr. myself, but I am a little wimpy so I blend it with BT and a little ice. I get the proof down to a "cool" 100. So nice with a cherry flavor. Enjoy your pour and happy studying! flahute
After 4-5 days of being on a rye bender, I'm back to bourbon and started the evening with the reliable and easy drinking 4RSmB. Have now moved on to Russel's Reserve Single Barrel SmB and once again am really liking this one. More and more it seems that the Turkey profile really hits my sweet spot so I've been seeking out more of these to see if a trend is being made. bananaslug
Thank you sir! Paddy
Had a couple of pours of 4RSB as bookends to what turned out to be a rye kinda night for me. Standard 4RSB, just awful stuff it is. No one should ever come to Ky and buy any of this stuff for under $30.
brettckeen
Work is done, a cool customer brought me a sample of some old Hill and Hill not sure on the date or proof. Seems low proof but rich, not as thin as some ND Sunny Brook I have had. Nice rich butterscotchy ND profile bourbon. Finishing up with Binny's CEHTSB. Faint dusty qualities, corn forward sweetness, caramel goodness.
cloudatlas
Finished off my first bottle of WT Kentucky Spirit that I got on sale for $35. TunnelTiger
\Ahh, the power of suggestion.Your post has been on my mind since I read it and this morning a KC1B came home with me.Yep, like you said,..."there is damn near zero alcohol burn".Might have to get another one while this is still on the shelf. You are in DC and I am in MI, they couldn't be the same barrel.
