callmeox
Staring down the barrel of a 4 day weekend with a full agenda, I wrung the last pour out of a DSP-16 Liter of Old Fitz and I'm on to some American Spirit. Life may take a swipe or two at you occasionally, but I'm good at fighting back.
justataste
Started with JB Black. Now I'm having a pour of my own concoction, 1 part EW BIB with equal part EWB. Prolly finish with a short pour of Rare Breed. Very short. It will be an early morning!
flahute
I had a REALLY good night of dustiness....started with 2 pours of Eagle Rare 101 and then moved onto a healthy pour of Ancient Age Barrel 107 10yr old. Oh how I wish these were still around.Coming back down to earth, I'm finishing with some VOB6.
bin31z
Picked up a couple more dusties from a reliable shop... Side by side tasting of ND OGD, ND OT, and Willets 2 yr rye. OGD is a winner by a mile, buttery caramel with just the right amount of fruit.

dcbt
First, a recap:dcbt: "I'll take Places for $600, Alex."Alex Trebek: "The answer is 'Awesometown, USA.'"<ding ding ding >Alex Trebek: "dcbt"dcbt: "What is the place you find yourself in when you call the cable company on Sunday August 10 to set an appointment for Sunday August 17 because that's the earliest they have. You are excited about getting cable in your have bar area, it is the only thing missing, but one week won't make a huge difference, especially since it's not yet football season. So you agree to set the appointment to be between 3-4pm on August 17 because the cable company now proudly says they have 1 hour time windows. On Aug 17 at 3pm you make sure you are home and ready for them. 3pm becomes 4pm and they don't show or call. 4pm becomes 5pm, which becomes 6pm, so you call the cable company. They say your appointment still is valid but they will reach out to the technician call you back. 7pm comes and no call yet so you call the cable company back again. They keep you on the phone for an hour and finally tell you at 8pm that the appointment has been canceled despite nobody telling you prior to this. They proudly offer you to reschedule, though. You also fight for a credit on your bill for this failed appointment. This may or may not actually happen, they have to charge you and then credit it back so they are undoubtedly banking on your not checking your bill so you can assuredly count on calling them back in a month to fight for this credit again. So you reschedule for the next available day on August 21 between 6-7pm. You make sure you leave work right at 5pm so you are home by 6. You even make it home at 5:45, only to see the technician walking from your door to his truck. You see him climb in and start to drive off, so you race outside to flag him down. You admire the fact he is early but are disgruntled that instead of waiting 15 minutes FOR THE START OF THE APPOINTMENT, he decides to leave. But you flag him down in time so he spends the next 2 hours hooking things up. He gets it working around 7pm and then decides to reboot it for some reason. During the reboot he tells you, "This will take awhile but it will come back on, have a good day," and then he leaves. Of course when the reboot finishes, the cable does not work at all. So now you get to call the cable company back and spend an hour troubleshooting this problem. At 8pm, the customer service rep says, "Well, let's just give it an hour and I'll call you back to see if it's working for some reason even though we have no diagnosed anything or fixed anything. Good bye." You finally crawl into bed at 10pm and of course the cable company had never called you back. So you have spent a good 8-10 hours over two days on a very simple service request that may or may not be resolved and may or may not be charged for. Awesometown, USA."Alex Trebek: "Hmmmmm, let me check with the judges. Ehhhh, they are saying, no, we can't accept that. In fact, they are saying you just described the opposite of Awesometown, USA. Shit-town, USA."------Oh, so RR10 tasted oh so delicious from 8pm to 10pm....

kcgumbohead
Recently nabbed a 108 that has yet to be opened but I may have to get a new 112 and crack it first, sounds really good on this Friday!!I can't stay away from the 112.8 WTRB. Tonight is no exception. I mentioned in another thread that the Dickel 14 yr might be my selection for American Whiskey of the Year. Well, it's going to have a battle on its hands going up against this Turkey. The wonderful thing about both of them is the tremendous fullness and richness they have. jonhalter
Im now teaching science along with math. I have access to a few of these now as well. But when drinking, I just prefer eyeballing it. Particularly after a few.
horn1602
First opportunity to sit and relax in the new house in Texas. Starting with a hefty pour of BT. Nothing fancy, just a solid bourbon.
mbroo5880i
Having some EC12. Pondering mixing some 132.4 ECBP with it to 114 proof. If my math is right it would be a 25:23 mL ratio.Opted for a 50/50 mix of ECBP batch #2 and EC18. The ECBP takes the woody edge off of the EC18. The mix is roughly 113.5. I might just use a shot glass and must have gotten a little more EC18 in the mix than I thought since it tastes a little woodier than normal. Dropped a few small cubes in it and it balanced out. LCWoody
Had some EHT SB to start the night than moved on to GDSB 14y. When I bought the GDSB 14y their was 4 bottles total and for some reason I bought just one to try it. Bad move I should have picked up at least 2. Now I can't find another and I almost done with this bottle. I'm very impressed with this Tennessee whiskey. Hopefully I will run across another GDSB 14y, very good. flahute
Willett Family Estate 11yr from Eric's P&M in Elizabethtown. I have to thank a very generous SB member who took the time to pack this up and ship it to me. That's one of many reasons why this place is great. Though you can never fully judge a bourbon from the first pour, I'm really digging this one so far. If this one gets better with "air time", well heck, it's going to REALLY be good.
