Ok Today 8/06/14 I Purchased 6 bottles of Elemer T. Lee Single Barrel and a Bottle of Jefferson's Chef Collaboration.. I had the ETL many years ago. This was more of an impulse buy only because I feel since his passing many are going out and hoarding what they can find.. (Me Too).. I wanted to compare the Jefferson's CC to Wild Turkey Forgiven in a blind tasting over the next couple of weeks and see which one I end of liking better.. Cheers. Creggor

Came across some Rock Hill Farms, which I haven't seen in a year or so. Picked up a couple of bottles at $45 apiece. I had passed it up many times previously before it disappeared. I suspect these are old stock.

Stopped by a new store and they had a few private selections. Picked up a 9yr 4R OESK (124 proof)

Well what an interesting find I found today.

I never thought I would find this, so maybe things have changed, but I simply picked up a bottle of 100 proof Very Old Barton in DC today, something I thought I'd never see.

Very excited to crack into it, cause I thought I would have to jump down to KY to get some. Unless things have changed in distribution since then, well perhaps it's not so much a lucky break.

Picked up Smooth Ambler 7yr bourbon and 7yr rye, in Lake Charles, LA. Commute here from Dallas area, and these are not to be found there, at least not by me.

BT Single Oak Barrel 175 and 176. Both wheaters according to Paccult. Hoping to find something similar to the BTEC Wheat 90 that I brought in to share with my team at work and which was quickly dispatched. Will post notes.

OWA and EC12.

OWA to finally try out this SB blend I hear so much about (I enjoy W12 but not a huge fan of OWA, so I'm very curious.)

EC12 because I love it so and was running low.

No doubt. I picked up the 6 year last week in Florida for the same reasons.

Hi Guys Today I took a drive to Sarasota FL and bought another bottle of Wild Turkey 14 Year Tradition.. $97 I went there to get this particular bottle. I checked out the over all Bourbon Selection and Normans Liquor and they had a nice selection.. I bought a bottle of George Dickel Barrel Select for $40 and a bottle of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit for $45 I rounded up off the .99Cents.. They did have some 20, 25 & 30 Year Jeffersons.. I was somewhat interested. I passed until I came home to read some additional reviews.. It seems the Whisky Advicate ie John Hansell did not rate these very highly.. He did like the 17 & 18 year Jeffersons.. I also passed on a bottle of 21 year Elijah Craig.. Nice trip overalll.. Creggor

Couldn't agree more - off-the-shelf FRSB is pretty amazing whiskey for the money! Have fun with your barrel selection! I know we had a blast!

IMHO the EC21 is an excellent Bourbon. The longer my bottle has been opne the better it gets and it was good from the first pour.

A little switchero with another GBS member today. He grabbed me a store selection that I wanted and I found an extra 4RLESB '14 for him. I came home with a Russels Reserve SB 110pf selection.

Wish that it was only a straight up trade! Cash considerations and a bottle to be named later were also discussed...
