I think I'll join you. Ive had several of 'em here for a while but havent had any in well over a year. Time to open one up. I figure the days of its production, at least as a 7 year expression, may be numbered.

After tonight's tasting and only having one in the bunker I'm going to pick up a few more. Surprised to find them here in NC. Jay maybe they'll be on the sale list next month!

rather enjoying the Ezra 7/101!

totally HH on the nose, quite similar to HH6BIB on the palate, but the finish is where it diverges from regular HH stuff, and I still am at a loss for words on how to describe the finish on OE101.

I always wondered.....does Luxco go to HH and buy a bunch of 7 year stuff that was aged at HH, or do they buy distillate fresh from HH, then barrel and age it themselves? I kind expect the former, but something always differentiates this from HH named bottles to me on the finish for some reason.

Tonight (and the past few nights), I've started with a few pours of CEHT SmB followed by a nightcap of an EWSB store pick from Tippins in Ann Arbor. The CEHT SmB is good, but there are a lot of other bottles in or under that price point that I prefer. But I'll be damned if that isn't a great looking bottle. This particular EWSB on the other hand is just fantastic. Sad that I finished it off tonight.

Started with some OGD BIB and followed it up with some standard Four Roses Single Barrel. Even the standard stuff is good in my opinion.

I have to agree with you on the FRSB! For $29 a bottle it's my goto bottle. It's rich, round and just a real pleasure.

I got mine on sale but only bought one bottle. Sure am kicking myself as of now.

Bookers over a big round cube at the hotel bar. I drink this bourbon so infrequently, it's almost laughable. Why?? I don't know, but I just don't. But, this pour is square in my wheelhouse tonight, as it seems more Beam whiskies are with every bottle I try. Baker's, KCSB, Beam Signature Craft 12 yr, etc, have recently been very agreeable to me, despite that I really have spent no time with them previously, due to any number of reasons. My personal evolution through Bourbonia continues, and is what makes this hobby so cool to me.

I've been on the Larceny/HM BIB kick for the last week or two and it continued tonight. Just good solid bourbon's at a fair price. :toast:

A couple pours of HH6 BiB. Damn good stuff.

That's exactly what I'm working on now. Never heard of it until I became a member of this forum. Did some digging and now there is 17 bottles of it in my house. Lol

A pour of WTRB followed by FRSB.

With WTRB and WT101, the nose always reminds me of the smell you get after unwrapping hard candy like a Jolly Rancher. Am I alone in this? Though my palate is certainly not as refined as others around here, when I stack them against each other, I prefer WT101 over WTRB. The payoff for WTRB doesn't justify the difference in cost. Then again, I like to keep it simple and frugal.

found the bottom of a bottle of WT101 tonight, while working on a code deploy.

Opened it during the Cowboys game last Sunday.

Finally finished off the OFBB from last year. I really didn't care for it. I guess that's why it took this long. To each his own I suppose.

WT 12 cheesy gold foil while watching the World Series. I am going to be sick to death when this bottle is gone but I sure am enjoying it while she's around.

Doing some sbs action with booker's, Stagg Jr, and SAOS CS and the winner is........

Booker's. I wanted the others to win but I just love the flavor profile of booker's.

Eagle Rare, current issue. This is the best I've ever had I think, the one from 10 years ago (when this one was just being barrelled) always seemed appley and thin.

This one has a deep rich taste with noticeable complexities, more like the Seagram original.

Far better than the thin, spirity Blanton I had before this bottle.

Having the gritty wonderful final pour of 2013 GTS.

Wag, that final gritty pour of GTS may be the best experience in all of Whiskeydom, IMO. I'm not sure I spend more time savoring a single glass of whiskey as I do that one. :yum:

Revisiting an old friend tonight. Mr. Elmer T Lee. This was one of my first purchases at the start of my "enthusiast" journey a year ago and I quickly determined it to be one of my favorites. I've been trying all things since that purchase and have not been back to it since finishing that first bottle back in February or so. I've discovered new favorites since then so I was curious to see how this stacked up against all the new finds. I'm happy to discover that this still hits my sweet spot and holds it's place amongst my favorite bottles. As this is a new bottle, I'm thinking it might get even better with a little proverbial air time. Happy to have two more in the bunker.

I had one of those pours the week before my trip to China and agree with your assessment. That pour had to hold me over my dry spell while traveling and it was up to the task.
