Josh
Appearing on the Michigan new product list for January 4, 2015 is a product called Jim Beam Bonded that will be selling for $25. I don't recall seeing anybody post a label from the TTB website, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention. Anybody have any other information on this product? 393foureyedfox
a young Knob Creek....Id give it a try. $25 seems a bit high though...assuming this is a 4 year old BIB.....since regular 9 year KC is barely over that price

Xevious
I think I'd have to pass on that for $25.
393foureyedfox
Knob Creek is $36 state minimum in Michigan, so the new bonded might be considerably cheaper than $25 in your neck of the woods.
Paddy
Even at $20, it still seems high for a BIB. Especially when comparing it to Barton or HH, which is/are the BIB gold standards.
camduncan
It might be the golden colour label - No 12 formula BIB that we've had in Australia for several years. I took a few to the Sampler in April for people who'd asked me for one, and I believe one went back in September and was on offer on the gazebo table.... I haven't had any in some time, so can't offer a tasting note sorry
mosugoji64
Here you go:https://www.ttbonline.gov/colasonline/viewColaDetails.do?action=publicFormDisplay&ttbid=14191001000362While a 4-year Beam may not be the most exciting thing around, I applaud them for their support for the Bonded designation. I hope it's a solid, affordably-priced whiskey.

I hope it's a solid, affordably-priced whiskey.Glad they got rid of the big misleading "12" on the label and replaced it with a number that's actually meaningful. I can't stand semi-faked age numbers. It makes me feel so disrespected as a consumer.
Grain Belt
I am excited to give this a try if it comes Minnesota way. I welcome any new item that is not $50 plus. We have been spoiled by some nice low cost bonded bourbons but I welcome Beam to the mix. Wish it was the 7 year old, but beggars can't be choosers. TunnelTiger
I'll be on the lookout for it since I'm a BIB junkie.

PaulO
I will have to at least try it to satisfy my curiosity. Have any of our friends with connections gotten an early taste?
squire
This is a large step in the right direction. I like how the label emphasizes what differentiates a Bond from other Bourbons any only wish they had gone with an 8 year age statement. Must applaud the effort though. dSculptor
Hope it gets to my neck of the woods, I'd give it a try for sure.....I just seen that I turned 500, had posted previously in I'm thankful section, but was stuck on 499 for a while, I bet you have to post in different threads for them to count, never really paid attention before, until I noticed I was nearing 500.Oh, and I see that I now moved up to being a connoisseur. squire
Congratulations on the promotion, you were probably stuck on 499 because posts in the Off Topic forum are not counted.
ramblinman
Anytime a new bonded bourbon comes on the market is reason to celebrate. I'm not much of a beam fan but I'll be picking up at least one bottle to give it a try
suntour
If this is essentially Old Tub BIB in a bigger bottle I'll have to pass, but I definitely applaud distilleries bringing more BIBs to market.

Harry in WashDC
Going to be interesting to see the pricing on this. KC 750s @ 9yr, 100 proof currently sell for about $22 on sale around here (Montgomery Co., MD stores & in WashDC), and JBB 750s @ 8 yr (for now), 86 proof are around $15 on sale. (FYI-I think the Mont. Co. sale prices are good through 6 Jan).Edit - did I remember the JBB proof correctly? he asked rhetorically; too lazy to go look while G'town BBall is on. White Dog
Praise to Suntory for another great move since the purchase! And I'm not a Beam fan, but with barrel proof MM and this, I may become one.
flahute
I'll give it a go. Always interested in BIB's at a good price, so I'm curious to see where this one ends up. We can get HH BIB 6yr here, but not at the ultra cheap prices I see others here talk about. (Yay Washington State!!) If the Bonded Beam is price competitive with the HH6, we have a possible contender.
