Glass of ETL at the new cigar lounge this evening while working on a presentation. It's good to have a locker to keep an additional stash

The Booker's threads made me open up this bottle of batch 2014-07 that I picked up the other day. This stuff never disappoints.

SAOS Ten. My newly opened 'road' bottle for weekday travel. Great batch, will enjoy this one until the last drop.

Thanks, G. Good business news. In the realm of "what goes around, comes around". :D

Always seem to crave a pour while watching Justified. Tonight it was FRSB OBSQ followed by OWA. Usually I don't drink a Wheater after a high rye selection like FR but it worked tonight. The OWA seemed extra creamy.

ECBP batch 3. I've been using this the past few days to pump up some ryes I'm not overly fond of and it's been mostly successful. I decided it was high time to drink it straight (with a little water of course) to remind me why it's so good, and so good it is.

Booker's 14-06 tonight

I suppose it's the best Booker's you've had? I have seen lots of the 14-06 on the shelf here in Florida at $60 a pop. After reading about the significantly lower prices being paid in Minnesota, Missouri, and Texas I thought I would wait and save myself a few dollars by picking one up later. I think all it will take is one more rave review for me to reconsider that strategy.

$60ish seems to be the going rate most places these days. It's $63 here.

Last night just a couple of nice pours, JBBIB & OFSig.

The OFSig was almost too sweet after the JBBIB, almost.

Ive enjoyed all the batches of Booker's Ive had. Ive never done any side-by-sides with them, though. If I were out to buy a new bottle and saw a 14-06 on the shelf next to something else, sure, Id grab the 14-06 just because I know exactly what it is like, but I dont think Id go out of my way to get one particular batch or another, as theyve all been good. Regular price has creeped up just past $50 here lately, but it can still be found for $45ish. Once it goes beyond $50 everywhere, Ill have to push my price-cap to $55....

I finally opened one of my Bookers 25ths this week. I think it's very enjoyable but not sure it's worth all the acclaim it got. Probably a matter of expectations after hearing so much about it; if I lived in a vacuum I'd probably be more pleased with it.

I am still extremely new to bourbon (wine guy convert!), but for right now I have kind of settled on 1. A middle of the road bourbon (right now BT), a Tennessee whiskey (Dickel 12), and a wheater (OWA 107).

I will also scarf up a FR Single barrel whenever I can find one.

I am always open to trying new stuff, but I sure cant spend the kind of money a lot of the more esoteric items cost!

Started with wt101 now on to bulleit.

Dont nut know if I'll purchase the wt101 again. Although I see the value in it. I just don't think its my value pour. I'd like try a bib but can't seem to find any in my area.

The bulleit is good enough but over priced in my neck of the woods. So probably not going to repeat this one either.

Cheers

Healthy pour of Stagg Jr on a beautiful day. 73, sunny, doors & windows open . . . and tomorrow night we'll be below freezing. Hmm - maybe I should have saved the high proof pours for tomorrow?

Don'f feel bad. There is no such thing as WT BiB other than occasional special releases like WT Diamond that are priced sky high. Besides, if you don't like WT101 that much, you would not like WT Bonded either (if it did exist) since it would be basically the same thing.
