It will get filtered thru a screen and coffee filter eventually. See here for recipe, etc.

Through supreme good fortune (and a credit card dent), today I picked up 3 bottles of George T Stagg 2010.

It's been a while, went to the store to check on MMCS - nope, maybe summertime. Spied CEHTBP (129) for a reasonable price ($75), so it came home. My guess is I lucked into the better choice.

Decided to try a bottle of the infamous HH 6 yr BIB along with another bottle of Baker's, purchased from Eric at Packages & More in Elizabethtown (where this morning we have 16-18 inches of new snow on the ground!!).

Got myself a bottle of BT as it is the BOTM. Looking forward to revisiting.

Best regards, Tony

Found a pre fire bottle of JW Dant BIB. Figured it would be worth a try for 16 bucks.

Pretty nice find there. I think current Dant BiB is worth $16 so pre-fire Dant at that price is a score.

My dusty haul from the other night.

- Old Fitzgerald 1849 10-Year 90.4-Proof (circa 1970-1972), with box and glasses (see pic in the Dusty Finds thread in the Collectibles forum)

- Kentucky Tavern 7-Year BIB 100-Proof (1959)

- Old Charter 7-Year 86-Proof (1959)

- J.W. Dant 4-Year 100-Proof (1959)

- Benchmark 6-Year 86-Proof (1975)

- Hiram Walker 5-Year (1970)

I also ended up with some Canadian whisky (Corby's Park Lane from 1942, among others), blends (Schenley Reserve from 1959) and compromised bottles (I.W. Harper glass decanters from the 50s or 60s and a Dickel ceramic jug from 1976).

Picked up several bottles of the second barrel of a store pick FR 100 proof OBSV I had the opportunity to help pick out last summer. Not many bottles in this barrel after nearly 10 years of aging. This was the barrel that was a bit different from the typical OBSV profile and really stood out from the other four we tried at the time. I liked this one a lot at barrel proof and it seems to hold up pretty well at 100 proof. Fun to try them again SBS as they are pretty different in flavor.

I would love to see some pictures of these, especially the 1959 trio.

I remember seeing some of those in a liquor store many moons ago. Maybe not the exact stuff, but the names for sure.

Picked up an OWA (last one in the store) and a Forged Oak despite several people giving it negative reviews. Just couldn't pass it up.

RHF @$57.99. Pricey but this is the first time seeing this in my area. Only bottle in the shelf.

Anxious us to try this as it shares the same mashbill as Blantons and ETL. Both of which I enjoy.

I think most of the negativel reviews of Forged Oak were critical of the price point. It is decent enough whiskey.
