Decided to try a bottle of the infamous HH 6 yr BIB along with another bottle of Baker's, purchased from Eric at Packages & More in Elizabethtown (where this morning we have 16-18 inches of new snow on the ground!!).

- Old Charter 7-Year 86-Proof (1959)

- J.W. Dant 4-Year 100-Proof (1959)

- Benchmark 6-Year 86-Proof (1975)

- Hiram Walker 5-Year (1970)

I also ended up with some Canadian whisky (Corby's Park Lane from 1942, among others), blends (Schenley Reserve from 1959) and compromised bottles (I.W. Harper glass decanters from the 50s or 60s and a Dickel ceramic jug from 1976).

Picked up several bottles of the second barrel of a store pick FR 100 proof OBSV I had the opportunity to help pick out last summer. Not many bottles in this barrel after nearly 10 years of aging. This was the barrel that was a bit different from the typical OBSV profile and really stood out from the other four we tried at the time. I liked this one a lot at barrel proof and it seems to hold up pretty well at 100 proof. Fun to try them again SBS as they are pretty different in flavor.

I remember seeing some of those in a liquor store many moons ago. Maybe not the exact stuff, but the names for sure.

I think most of the negativel reviews of Forged Oak were critical of the price point. It is decent enough whiskey.
