fozzy71
Finished another bottle of WTRB. I'm definitely a WT fan. I was thinking about keeping this bottle for vatting because the top is easy to pour from but I think smaller bottles with a screw top are probably better. Problem is I usually don't buy 200ml or 375ml bottles. Guess I will have to pick up a OGD BiB or WT101. I'm going to need the bottle to make the Fozzy Blend next month (for VOTM).I bought some 200/375 just for this purpose. I like the WT101 bottles the best as they have the curved side for a stable base when holding them on an angle to pour from a measuring cup. This reminds me I just got some funnels from amazon I need to put in my liquor cabinet. For bigger mixes of things I know I like I like the fifths with wide mouths and a lip like OGD114, 4RSmB, 1792. etc.

That's why I thought the WTRB was good for me, no lip.

But as for your vatting bottle, I prefer screw tops because then you can give it a shake every once in awhile without worrying about wetting the cork. Probably all for nothing, as I'm sure the shake doesn't do much to the vat anyway, and that little moisture so rarely probably doesn't hurt the cork, but ceteris paribus I'll go with the screw top anyway. That's why I thought the WTRB was good for me, no lip.Yes, but mostly because they are easy to pour into with a measuring cup. It doesn't much matter the mouth/lip, I always end up with some running down the bottle when I pour so I keep a paper towel under the glass and measuring cup and another to wipe off the neck of the bottle, but I am bit OCD about some things I suppose. fozzy71
Emptied my GD12 this morning by turning it into two partial pint vattings: one with OGD114 (killed that bottle also) and another with '05 EWSB.

mbroo5880i
Not a bourbon but I finished off a bottle of Woodford Reserve Rye. I liked it and would buy one (this one was a gift), if it were available in Indiana and the price was in the mid to upper $20s. Otherwise, I can find suitable alternatives. dcbt
WTRB is a goner. In a related story, I'll save a post in the "what bourbon did you purchase today" by saying I'll be getting a WTRB today...

flahute
Solid evening. 4RSB standard and a PS OESV both hit the bin this evening. Multiple backups of both so life is good.
Jazz Nut
Two bottles of ECBP have served their duty honorably. Hazmat, and 128 proof will be missed dearly. Luckily I have a few left in the bunker, but I will not be opening one for a while, it's become too difficult to find them on a regular basis. TunnelTiger
LS&B. Got this bottle two years ago and I have really enjoyed it. Was my first purchase over $100. There are still plenty of bottles here on the shelf for $119 but I don't think I'll get another. Well maybe
