Although I haven't been there in some time, Slow's BBQ in the D had great BBQ, craft beer, and a very good bourbon selection. True that, slow's has a great bourbon selection, but the BBQ is just ok. Try the new place, Townhouse on woodward, kinda pricey but a gang of good bourbons Edited August 19, 2016 by NuttyFinish
fishmich
The Low Bar in Traverse City is a real hidden gem. It sits in the basement of the best craft beer bar in Michigan and kinda flies under the radar. They brand it as a cocktail lounge but the Bourbon selection is incredible. Tony Santana
Ended up at a new bar (open for 9 days according to the bartender) last night after our fantasy football draft. Can't even remember the name, but I know where it is. Really a nice selection, more bourbon than anything but plenty of Scotch, rye, Irish, even about 5 Japanese whiskey. Probably top 2 or 3 of the bars around here. Even had CEHT Seasoned Wood, $9 an ounce, which I thought was a pretty good price. I was impressed. birdie
Not sure if this one was mentioned, but Whiskey Street in SLC, yes SLC, is probably one of the best whiskey/bourbon bars in the country and the best kept secret out there, their selection is immense covering not only bourbons but single malts you have never seen before. They have a wall about 80 feet long and maybe 10 feet tall, with 6 or 7 shelves the whole length. Their "menu" is about an inch thick. If in SLC go check it out. I don't need to know the name (Cask and something), I just need to know where the bar is. And if anyone around here asks where it is, they'll know exactly where it is if I say "the old Paul's Club"

Impressed with bar, in small part because they actually had Seasoned Wood at a reasonable price. Although I didn't taste that one - more interested in a few selections I hadn't tried before. Kepler
Julep in Houston. Excellent bourbon selection, good service, a really cool atmosphere with a classic southern motif, and a damn fine pulled pork sandwich to boot!
jfw
I travel a lot and visit bourbon bars when I can. Jack Rose in DC has a great selection and it's pretty close to me. Delilah's in Chicago is great and has a very laid back dive bar vibe (my wife prefers them because they are Bill's fans). Hard Water in SF is nice but expensive and a little what is the right term...snooty maybe? But, I'd always select the local place. For me Kloby's BBQ is my local favorite. They have a good selection (Elmer yesterday for me), a lot cheaper than some and lots of tasty meat. There are so many great places to drink. If only I live long enough to try them all....
