The $60 price tag (here in Memphis) puts it beyond my reach. Oh well. There's always my birthday and Christmas.

A small (5-10 mL) pour of Weller Centennial this morning. What a delightful way to start the day.

Not drinking yet today, but this last night. A very good pick of KCSB. not your typical Beam. bbbecbc10bc60f7b4e4f88277e404b0a.jpg

Starting out with some old ER 101 (New Orleans) next I'm going to try some SA Revelation Rum.

Just finished a health pour, of one of my favorites, 4 Roses Small Batch, with a tiny splash of water. Dam Good stuff!

My first pour following a two week hiatus. BTEC 23YO Giant French Oak. The last pour from the bottle. Great nose of barrel scent and vanilla. Add cocoa powder and you have the palate. Add just a hint of spice and fruit in the finish. At 93.6 proof, just a little tingle of heat. I will miss this bottling - I enjoyed the hell out of it. I'd would have loved to do a sbs with Pappy 23: rye mash #2 vs. wheated mash after 23 years in cask. Ah well, but for the craziness...

Tasting some SAOS10 tonight that I picked up today. I tried to like the 7yr and just couldn't get it. However it seems my tastes and Mr. Fox here on SB run the same in so many bourbons and he's been bullish on SAOS lately so I had to try the 10.

Much better experience than I had with the 7yr

For a second I thought your mixer was a drill press and thought - wow, your shop is so much cleaner than mine! Great bottle!

Finally bought a bottle of Rare Breed. I have been missing out. Thanks to all who have been talking it up. Great pour.

If it's anything like the 19yo version, that was a very good pour. I miss it already.

As for me, HHSS.2 in the glass....since we're talking crazy, crazy good.

Tonight, I started with a pour of Basil Hayden over a big cube with dinner and then switched over to a couple pours of Blanton's. Gotta say....Barrel #389 from Rick #49 in Warehouse H is some dang tasty whiskey! Finishing off the night with a small pour of WRDO.

had old friends over for a bonfire and chicken fry last night. blindly gave out samples of SAOS BP rye, and SAOS BP bourbon, and JB green label rye. SA bourbon was the favorite, SA rye the close second, and general indifference on the JB rye. I had HH6/90 and some KC for my choices. I dont think you can ever go wrong with KC for a generally appealing bourbon to the masses

Friend's birthday party last night, got to try some occasion pours. A Willett 25 yr rye started things off, then we moved to bourbon. 1983 WT, '14 lot B, and the icing on the cake, ETL BUB.

It has been an eventful day so far. OGD114 in the coffee, Makers Cask Strength, and now HH6/90, while watching Mad Men season 3 and working on a MBA paper.

Have to have my distractions!!!!
