kcgumbohead
Attended a function for work and the choices were Gentleman Jack, JW Black, Oban and The Macallan 12. I opted for The Macallan and Oban as it was an open bar and I was curious how I would like a scotch experience compared to my usually exclusive bourbon pours. They were pleasant but nothing with any WOW factor in terms of flavor IMO. They were good, they were different as Irish is relative to Bourbon. While I can and did appreciate these 2 last night there was nothing there that would compel me to purchase any to have at home. In a nutshell the Scotch was nice but bourbon wins in a landslide. amg
Couple of 10 year old 100 proofers tonight. Store select HMcKenna BIB followed by SAOS 10yr 100pf. That store select HM is a spice bomb. The SAOS is fruity in comparison. Is that a standard flavor profile for the higher aged MGP bourbons?
amg
I'm having my first ever pour of Blanton's tonight and I'm really regretting that it took this long to get around to.

El Vino
Shared some ECBP with my golf buds after a nice walk. Got the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. Don't remember which batch - just killer juice. Left in my locker to repeat the process.

flahute
Long day of a bike ride followed by some yard work in some warm sunny weather left me pretty tuckered so I was looking forward to the evening pour more than usual. Decided to go with the last pour of Lot B from '13, and being the last pour it ended up being quite large. It's really hitting some extra fine notes this time and is a solid step above the Weller 12 I currently have open.

Problem is, I've got so many other bourbon's that I am enjoying at the moment (GTS, EC12, SAOS7).Tonight, my first time trying SAOS 10. Good stuff but not stuff it's worth $15 more than the 7 year. JDSmith619
After a vacation down in Pensacola (where the bourbon selection is slim at most of the restaurants) for 5 days, I had a pour of BT store select, HWMWND, and GTS. Its good to be home!
