Some Balvenie Doublewood 12yr tonight; I forgot how easy drinking this is.

Redbreast CS is hitting ALL the right notes tonight. Damn I love this one!

It opened up nicely after I left it on the shelf untouched for over a year.

JW Green label, it's the new bottling with the screw cap. Still a great malt blend, glad it's back.

A bitch of a week. Hello weekend! The kids are in bed and I'm on the patio with a Glenmo Ealanta, a Montecristo, and a belly full of BBQ.

Hah. I'll revisit tonight. Maybe it'll disappoint me. On another note that was a surprise to me: Ardbeg Ardbog does indeed have a 10 year age statement on the back. It actually says "Ardbeg's smoky sweetness has been intriguingly interwoven with salty, savory whiskies which have slumbered undisturbed in rare ex-Manzanilla sherry casks, all for at least ten long years." Good to see that, I guess.

Interesting, as that is what older bottlings of Uigeadail taste like, just without any age statements.

Yeah, this is what I want Oogie to taste like, generally. This is missing the young and new make notes I get from oogie. I had another drink of it last night, and it's definitely a bit on the dry side. More Glenfarclas 105 style sherry I guess. Still good stuff.

What bottling of Uigeadail? The pre-2010 stuff is different.
All the Oogie I've had has been post 2010. I'm aware of the difference, just not motivated to seek out earlier stuff.

Gotcha. If you like it, it's worth looking for the older stuff. I managed to find 5 of the flip tops, 03 and 04.

Just killed this bottle. It was a dandy. It had the perfect mix of peat and Sherry for me. I was able to stash back one extra. Wouldn't turn down another if I sawing somewhere 1bdea068a7502012969b359ef7f8b18c.jpg

if that's the one that came out 2-3 years back, I believe I have a bottle of it put away. Tried it at Jack Rose and absolutely loved it.

This one is the fresh Sherry that came out a couple months ago.

I agree, I regret not getting one when I had a chance

Wife has been on night shift all weekend, and I've been caring for a sick 5 month old. Mom and baby are taking a nap, so I'm having a morning treat of a Balvenie 15 Single Barrel mini (old bourbon version). I always forget how tasty this is.

Just concluded my first trip to Ireland. I tried several whiskeys that were on my list including Powers, Teeling, Connemara CS, Green spot, Bushmills single malt and Midleton Very Rare. To my taste I always come away preferring bourbon but I do appreciate the Irish style and found all of these enjoyable with the Midleton VR my favorite by a good margin.

just finished off a RedBreast 21 yr old. This was a tremendous pour. 92 proof. Sweet, complex, and very nice finish. Absolutely no burn. The quality was evident in this bottle. Would definitely buy another if the opportunity were to present itself.

Bottles can still be had around here. Only cost you a trifling $300!

I love the stuff and a $200 I would probably buy more but $300 seems a bit of a reach.

Wow!

I pulled it out of a Kroger liquor store in Columbia SC a few years back. Surprised the hell out of me too!
