Different colored wax, different batches?

Yes, I believe they were 2014-2 and 2014-3. One is supposed to be a Binny's selection, but I'm not sure which, since neither is marked as such.

I've got 4 bottles of ETL, plus two more of the Commemorative, so I decided to sit back and let some others have a few when I saw the low numbers that were showing up in the DFW area. Had any store here gotten two dozen, like some Houston stores, I'd have probably tried to grab another six.

You mean, "decided to sit back and let PHIL have a few." Phil is a turkey.

For kicks I checked Dallas craiglist, out of curiosity to see if Phil is flipping. Guess what bottle just got posted for sale for $200 two days ago? I REALLY hope that isn't Phil...

Had I known Phil's game, I might have tried harder to grab a few. I'm much more likely to share.

Actually purchased an ETL in Dallas today for the first time since Nov 2013. It took two stops because at my first stop Phil struck again and bought out their ETL stock. I told the employee helping me about my encounter this week at another store within the same chain and she lamented that she wouldn't have sold them to Phil had she known that. And then at the second stop, the manager there said Phil had called about it but apparently he was wise to his game by now. Phil did his best to corner the Dallas ETL market, though.

Phil's twin is in Portland today. A friend of mine has been chasing Cured Oak and called three different stores only to be told each time that "some guy just walked out with the three that we had". Phil's twin now has nine CO's to flip.

An EWBIB, Bulleit 1.75, and an ETL came home with me today. If I can't get it done with those three, I probably shouldn't do it.

Let's find Phil so we can have a sit down.

Nothing special by forum standards but was very happy to pick up a handle of BT today. This has pretty much been non existent in the Orlando area for several months. Found it while working in Miami this week.

Got a store pick of RR today at s place called Bill's in Summerville SC just north of Charleston. Great store and a very solid selection as well. Also picked up another Hancocks since I'm down to less than half a bottle.

Blantons and Big House. Both are bourbons I have yet to try.

I haven't had blanton's yet but big house I enjoyed quite a bit given it's a NDP and fairly priced.

Not sure what "standards" you are referring to or why you would downplay that - BT is a fine purchase any day of the week.

Well, I had to travel 4,373 miles from Kentucky to Cologne, Germany to finally get my hands on a Weller 12....

Glad to bring her home...

Nice Pic, JvW! Very attractive imposition of the W12 in the foreground with the bridge and cathedral waaaay back. You may find it a bit woody, and a bit more char than expected, which some absolutely LOVE; and some prefer mellowed/moderated/punched up with about equal parts Old Weller Antique 107, assuming, of course that you haven't already had the pleasure and formed an opinion. In any case: ENJOY!!!.

"Phil" out-hustled everybody else, and in one way or the other, is reaping the benefits of his hard work. Sorry, that's what it is.

Just browsing today and I noticed a lone bottle of OGD BIB on the shelf for $17.00 If I recall correctly, I remember reading that OGD has discontinued the 100 proof BIB, so I picked the bottle up. I love it anyway, but it always seemed easy to come by. Thinking about it, I have not seen any lately. Is there any truth that OGD has discontinued it?

It's a tons of the stuff in Va. It's just got a new label so I seriously doubt it has been discontinued.

The 86 proof version was discontinued in favor of the 80 proof version. The BIB is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the heads-up. I must have gotten the 100 mixed up with the 86 in my mind. I knew something was discontinued.

Can someone explain to me, how you see or visit a site, that shows the so called "Secondary Market". Just for giggles, I'd like to see what it's all about.

You're asking the wrong forum for that info, JF. In general, if we spent less time thinking and worrying about that aspect of our hobby, we'd all be less irregular.
