ETL and W12. The ETL will soon be on its way to my buddy who was in town last week for an interview. I learned that his wife is an aficionado and ETL is her fave but they haven't seen a bottle in a bit.

Nothing special but picked up a Four Roses Small Batch for $19.99. Actually, my wife bought the bottle for me. I plan to go back this weekend and see if I can get more at that price.

Damn! Time to stock up. It's $30+ in MI. A good pour as well.

Picked up a Stagg Jr Batch 3 today. I thought I had a beat on ETL but some clown named Phil had already claimed all 3 via a transfer from another store. Who on here is Phil? (Just kidding about the clown comment...)

Surprised that bigger stores still allow anyone to grab more than 1 of anything allocated right now. I found my first bottle of ETL in a long time the other day, and I left the 2nd one for another lucky soul. The need to grab em all when we see them is absurd.

Yea, surprised me as well. Phil isn't a regular, either. At least that's my guess because when I asked about the ETL, the manager asked if I was Phil. Stupid me for being honest. I should have just said yes.

Good Eye! It is a Blood Oath box a guy at Spec's gave me. Has three bottles of ETL in it at the moment. (Possibly the best use of that box ever)!

I'd say that's an upgrade for that box, yes, hah.

Thanks to some overseas cohorts this arrived today. More incentive to finish off some other bottles to make some room for this guy up in the starting lineup.

Sounds awesome. I had a low proof obso from the gift shop recently and I think it was my favorite barrel proof single barrel so far

Actually purchased an ETL in Dallas today for the first time since Nov 2013. It took two stops because at my first stop Phil struck again and bought out their ETL stock. I told the employee helping me about my encounter this week at another store within the same chain and she lamented that she wouldn't have sold them to Phil had she known that. And then at the second stop, the manager there said Phil had called about it but apparently he was wise to his game by now. Phil did his best to corner the Dallas ETL market, though.

You see what I mean? Is the ETL shortage more the allocations, or more the Phils? Bit of both, probably.

Well, there were only a couple dozen total ETL bottles that made it to Dallas so even without Phil there aren't many people satisfying their ETL hankerings.

I've got 4 bottles of ETL, plus two more of the Commemorative, so I decided to sit back and let some others have a few when I saw the low numbers that were showing up in the DFW area. Had any store here gotten two dozen, like some Houston stores, I'd have probably tried to grab another six.
