I thought the internet was for porn.

Well, there is run of the mill porn and then there is bourbon porn!

I think I may be getting to the point where the bourbon porn is more interesting...

The GS reservations sounds like more LE absurdity. There really is no hunt anymore, the opportunity to get any sought-after LE nowadays really boils down to a few seconds or minutes of opportunity throughout the entire year.

Yeah, I feel the extremely small amounts of this (most of the LE's anymore, I guess) that are available, combined with the fact that some folx have pre-info (from whatever source) nearly eliminate many/most of us automatically.

I'll miss tasting it for sure; but, I think I'll find a way to get past the grief. I'll probably be able to find several (cases?) of something I can readily acquire (for about the same cheddar as one bottle of the LE); and set about drowning my sorrows. :slappin:

At least that's the way I'm expecting to deal with it.

Yeah to all the above. I posted so as to contribute for the sake of any SBrs thinking the GS might be a viable option in '15. I am not personally pursuing any LEs this year or maybe any going forward for that matter. I have the extreme good fortune of GBS and our barrel selections which matter far more to me than ANY LE ( but JR does get special consideration). I also figured it would bump the post as we are nearing the silly season and for those genuinely interested in acquiring for consumption and ENJOYMENT I wish you the very best in procuring whatever it is you may wish to acquire. I will sip my 4R PS and salute your quest!!

I've got to stock up on popcorn and butter before silly season this year. Thanks for reminding me...

Can't wait to pick this one up. These four roses small batch limited are hard to get but nowhere near the amount of attention of BTAC. I'm still able to get 2-3 a year from my guy. Single barrels LE was harder to get this year than the small batch LE.

I thought they didn't release a single barrel LE this year.

Ugh, that is a real bummer. I just stopped in casually after work last year and scooped up a bottle. I work right down the road from this place and never heard a peep about reservations, hell I went on a tour this month!

Sounds like this one may be special. Hope I can get one without having to hunt high and low. I don't have the energy this year

The last SmBLE Jim was responsible for? Dear god the flippers have to be drooling over this. May their mules drop every bottle.

When I stopped to pick up my prepaid bottle, I was told there was a line of about 80 people Friday morning at the distillery and that they sold out in about 30 minutes even with it being 1 per person. Also heard the first person in line got there at 4am. Drove all the way in from Detroit just to purchase there. Stupidity taken to a new level I am afraid.

They didn't 'sell out in a half hour; but I have no doubt they sold it all during the morning. we waited about 1/2 hoiur ans there were still at least a couple dozen folx behind us waiting.

If anyone's interested in my impression of it, I think it's fabulous! Very complex and subtle. Wonderful entry; long, slow-developing finish.

An easy grab, if I can find another one. ...Not to mention, it's the last of Jim Rutledge's offerings. Very collectible, I assume.

Therein lies the problem for those of us who would like to get a bottle to actually drink it. I can guarantee you that everyone in line will not be able to enjoy the complexities and subtleties of this one, as they're flipping them.

Snagged one from the CC gift shop (and as my Dad stated - they still had some by 9:30am, although who knows how many more). We got in line at 8:40am for the 9am open, and only 25 folks ahead of us. Well worth the extra few minutes! Cracked mine open that night at the hotel room, and not a studied tasting - but liked it a lot. Looking forward to spending more quality time with this one!

Hope I get a bottle as I really liked last year's release (and this year sounds like it might be better). Not getting my hopes up since I'm sure it'll be crazier

I got a bottle at the release luncheon on Thursday. Most people, including me, think that it is at least as good, or better than the 125th. Got both Jim and Brent to sign it. Gonna save this baby.

There is a fair-to-good chance for folx to get one this year. 12,600 bottles released, I believe was the figure quoted at the Gift Shop.
