I was seriously blown away when I saw the EC18. I asked for the price and immediately grabbed the other one. They also had barrel proof but for $75.

Just in time for the discussion in the BOTM thread, the local TW got in a barrel of ER10 and I picked up two.

Also grabbed a WTRB because I always like to have one open.

I would expect that somebody screwed up and forgot to update the price when the new ones came out.

That is what I was thinking too.

2004 Evan Williams single barrel. Quite dusty, must have been there for a while.

Nice. I haven't seen one in the wild in awhile.

I did buy two OGD BIB 750s today for $20 and tax each on sale at a Virginia ABC store ($2 off per bottle). I have plenty of Bernheim wheat whiskey so didn't buy any but noticed it is on sale in VA ABC stores for $24 and tax per 750 - a savings of $3 per. Usually, I see the Bernheim offered in WashDC for $26-$33.

I stopped at a local store today that I don't go to very often. Their selection is a bit limited, and their prices are high. I was surprised to see both OWA and Weller 12 on the shelf, and both priced at $29.99. :skep: I didn't need it, but a bottle of Weller 12 came home with me. What can I say?

FWIW, there are several local stores in my area that are like the one I described above. As with the store I stopped at today, I don't frequent them very often because of limited selections and high prices. However, I will stop at them every so often because you just never know. Today was a good example of why I still stop at these stores. The last time I saw Weller 12 around here was over a year ago, and it was $36.99.

Cheers! Joe

A midwinter nights dram act 3 scene 1

ECBP 128

A friend and I drank 1/2 a bottle of Midwinter nights dram scene 3 act 1 today. I think it's to me one of the best whisky's I've had in some time. Ordered 3 more bottles. I LOVE it!!

I had an incredible day! Found two EC18 for $60 each and found three OFBB 15 for $54 each!![/quote

Wow. That is impressive. Best deal I ever got was getting the High West Mid winter for 40 a bottle. I think you beat me.

How'd you get midwinter nights dram for 40 per, I can't find it below 80.

While in New Orleans last week on business, BTEC Wheated Bourbon from floors 5 and 9. 375 ml bottles for $58 apiece. Looking forward to these, I have been lucky with the BTECs and I do love a good wheater.

Picked up a bottle of Henry McKenna BIB barreled in 2001 (had to get so now I can do a vertical of 2001-2005 bottlings), found a Stagg Jr. batch #4 for $46.99, and a bottle of the Old Forester Signature BIB (old bottling with cursive handwriting--2009?).

Taking a few days off of booze, but I can't wait to have a bourbon maybe tomorrow or Wednesday!

It was a mistake by the store. Me and my friends bought most of their bottles.

That's a substantial loss to the store. In my state it cost retailers $69 per bottle.
