Must be bottle killing week here at the house of Knox.  Tonight I finished off my 2nd to last bottle of SAOS10SB.

A bottle of BT that went away far too fast. Fortunately it can be found close by for $23.99. It has become one of my go-to pours and at that price, I almost feel like I'm stealing it.

My second (and final) pour tonight was from my 1792 Port Finish.  The bottle is now empty.  I'm sorry to see this go.  It's a little sweeter than I usually like, but on a really hot evening, it is just fine.

Dang! It lasted just over a month. Good work.

Don't know if I will buy this one again.  Not the same whiskey that I remember it being several years ago.

Just finished off a bottle of WT Rare Breed 3RB 108.2 proof.  Enjoyed it immensely. Glad I have plenty more in the bunker. Looking forward to trying the newer 112 proof one of these days.

polished off a 2014 BTAC George T. Stagg last night.......

I never noticed it till empty, but I love the fact that the rear label is backed with white - like they are trying to show off the deep mahogany hue, unlike the black-backed label on Stagg Jr to deliver a false impression.

Hhhhmmm.  Like BBB, I find this an interesting observation.  I'm off to the bunker to cogitate.

Yea. Needed more room in the bunker so had to move some reserves up to the starting lineup before I could sign the free agents, which necessitated the empty bottle movement.

They do the same sleight-of-hand on their Eagle Rare.

Last night, I finished off a 750 of HMcK BIB barrel #2498 which I've been obsessing about on several threads.  For forty+ years, I've been reading and hearing about "honey barrels" and always thought it was just geeks woofing at each other.  THEN, I hit this one.  I feel lucky to have found five bottles from the same barrel in three different stores.

ASIDE - anybody think my obsession is getting out of hand?

That's one big plus for heaven hill over other producers, they mark many of their bottles so when you ID a good barrel, you can clear the shelf.

No.

You remain an inspiration for all of us. I want to retire like you.

What Steve said.  I feel that it's our duty to identify honey barrels, then relieve them from the shackles of store shelves!
