Between laughing with my boys & getting serious with our Nerf Wars it was a Great Day!

I think I'll start with the SAOS10 & finish with ECBP.  Both are very good.

I would love to have a taste of that SAOS 10 yo SB.

After a very long day at the store (10 hours pre-Thanksgiving madness), cleaning up for the grandkids (all of them) at home, five (5) fingers of Loch & K(e)y Blanton's barrel pick hit the spot and I was out for the night.  Me likee!    :D

Not technically an actual Bourbon; but posting about it anyway.    So there!    HA!

Opened a bottle of JD 150th Anniversary 100-proof yesterday.    Pretty good.    Over-priced for certain; but a far better representation of what the mashbill could be with a boost to a proper proof point.   Still NAS; but claims to have been 'matured high on Coy Hill', leaving one to assume at least somewhat accelerated wood influence, which the juice seems to me to exhibit.     Like I said pretty good.    Typical char/banana/sweet corn profile; but with a good deal of oak influence not generally found in regular Jack.

One of the local stores does a barrel select bottling that they pick out.  Right now, I'm enjoying 2 of their hand picks.  They are Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve 120 proof.  All are aged 12 yrs 10 months.  They are really hitting the spot this time of year!

I'd been working on finishing an open bottle of Bulleit Cask Strength but have family coming for the Holiday and one is a Bulleit fan so I moved on to an open bottle of Stagg Jr. Batch 5 and had 3-4 pours of it liberally splashed with Old Limestone Mixing Water

This week I've been drinking (not bourbon) JDSBBP, ECBP and Old Bardstown BIB.  For Thanksgiving (and the remainder of the week), I'll be celebrating with Wild Turkey.  It's not only appropriate, it's tradition!

Long day at work today. Even though we're working Friday, we tried to stay ahead of the curve, and shipped out as many orders as we could.  (Truck parts)  I picked over three tons of parts today. One order by itself was over 4,000 lbs.  Stagg Jr  batch # 3 is in the glass, and going down quite nicely.

Cheers! Joe

I picked up a bottle today after initially waffling due to price.    I don't usually ever buy anY JD but rationalized that by JD drinking friends might enjoy a pour of this one.   Thanks for your tasting notes.   Glad I purchased it now!

The last pour of a 4R JR select GS bottle from my trip to round out the 10 recipes a few years ago.  OESF 10.5 yrs old and one of my favorite pours ever!! I have rationed out this bottle and it's finally come to this last pour, every bit as outstanding as the first. This one I will miss and it is a benchmark against which all future pours will be measured, well , actually it has been since I opened it LOL!

A perfect Thanksgiving pour as I am very thankful that I had the good fortune to get, enjoy and share this phenomenal bourbon. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

My Baby Boy and I (followed later, after he finished work for the day, also by my Son-in-Law) uncapped and tipped over several fine pours.   We sampled WLW from '11, GTS from '12, OESF from a few years ago (121+proof), The new PH 24-yr., and a few lesser lights.    All in all, a nice way to ease into the Thanksgiving Holiday tomorrow.     It'll give us something to be thankful for... or to regret?   HA!

Serious prepping last night for the Thanksgiving Feast today.  Spirits, energy, and will were further buoyed by pours of BT, ETL, ECBP, and WT Rare Breed.  :D

Small pours of my open barrel proof bourbons: 1792 FP, ECBP#9, CEHT BP#1, FR PS OBSF 11Y3M, Old Scout PS 9YO.  I did this to see where 1792 FP ranks among some of my go to top-shelf bourbons.  The obvious conclusions: (1) 1792 FP is at or near the top and (2) the overall quality level of these non-Unicorns is remarkable high.  All were poured neat in a glencairn.

Gotta have my Turkey on Turkey Day, so a little WTRB 108.2 before I head out for the feast. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Kicking off the Bourbon drinking part of the day with some WTRB. It's tradition to start the day with something from Turkey.
