A pour of ECSmB 12 year old for myself.  And a smaller pour in a cup of coffee of FRSB PS OESO for my wife. :)

An interesting pour of Melrose Nine year - probably from the 70's.  And you know, for a hardware store whiskey, it ain't bad.  Nice loooong finish, the way nothing seems to have these days.

At my brother-in-law's for Thanksgiving today, I had a shot of BT for the first time in a year.  Great aroma and a tasty lower-mid shelf whiskey.

Had a local Bourbon nut over to pick up a bottle I got for him while travelling and while he was here we had a pour of RHF that he'd never tried and some OE101 as well - also gifted him a bottle of RY10SB and a partial of HH6BIB since he'd never had those

I just had a nip of 1792 that was the last of the bottle I used for making pecan pie today.

Wow! Same here.

Lazing around after the big day yesterday, and decided to open "The Fox".  Still, one of my favorite label designs ever.

Memories of my youth - well, relatively youthful when I first tried it (1974?).  My last taste of the actual "Fox" was a dusty I found circa 2005.  It lasted all of three days, and I didn't share or spill a drop.

Tonight, after a lunch of turkey sandwiches and a dinner of turkey soup, I'm going "light".  Larceny.

I turned 50 today and was going to crack a couple recently acquired unicorns (two are in the background) with a friend but he couldn't make it. It will have to wait a day, but needed to treat myself after driving 5 hours home from NY today. This bottle is from 2015 and I really like it. I don't find it overly woody at all, indeed it's a really nice, mellow bourbon with oak, leather and then some butter and just a little bit of vanilla on the finish. No water or ice necessary.

Vosgar and his wife invited me and my wife over for dinner tonight. We had a really good time. Dinner and conversation were great, and so were the before and after dinner pours. Gary had some good 'uns open. Weller 12  (embossed wheat), FR's 08 Mariage, and 2010 WLW were all enjoyed.  "Don't git much better'n that Vern."

Cheers! Joe

It had been awhile since I last had one open, so it was a treat to re-discover it.  Wonderful nose, but the finish is where it really shines.  Nice crackling pop of cinnamon that really lingers on.

That one is before my time as an enthusiast so I never paid it any attention back in the day.

I agree that it's one of the all time great labels.

Last couple of pours from this bottle.  Have other PS bottles from SA in this age range.  To my palate, this is right where I want: enough wood influence to appreciate that quality, but in balance and allowing the other elements to shine.  We don't need no steenking water!

Had one of these bunkered for a while, finally got around to opening. I'm impressed! I know it's BT distillate and it is very reminiscent of BT juice but it's still great in its own right.

Cheers all!

Can't even keep a bottle around. The wife's new favorite. Seem to be going through a lot of these.
