WT101. Got the tree up, little snow on the ground outside, stomach full of hot dogs and mac n cheese. Whiskey for dessert. Does it get any better?

To answer your question, no, it does not.

Watched the Packer game and watching a Hallmark movie while enjoying a nice pour of Crown Liqour's Single Barrel 1792. I don't care much for regular 1792 but this single barrel is awesome. At 98.6 it is the optimal temperature and proof. I like it well enough that I bought 2 more yesterday at $25 each.

Opened a FR gift shop offering I bought a while back...like maybe in 2013...at least that's when it was bottled.  Any way, it's an OBSO at 10 years and some months, and it's a pretty dang interesting pour.  Been enjoying it.  Ain't it fun having a stockpile to draw off of?

Tried some BT Bourbon Cream I picked up today. Poured over ice...OMG this stuff is yummy.

Interesting.....I've been debating grabbing this now for six months but keep ending up grabbing the owa next to it....

Well I'd grab the OWA too if there ever WAS any. It doesn't make it to the shelf in MissourI.  Even the wife really liked the BTBC. One of her coworkers lives near the store I found it at. We are sending them back for more tomorrow!

E C B P!!

Such a superior bourbon. Doesn't matter which batch. It has the qualities that many of the LE's have. If I miss out on all of the other LE's but still have this I'll be OK.

It can replace some of the finest. Widely available where I'm from, best heaven hill product. Never tired of it. I've only tasted batches 6 & 7, waiting for batch 11 to come home.

Still on this bottle, about half way through. Finally got to start reading "Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey" by Michael R. Veach, very interesting read.

I had a pour of OF1920 last evening as well. I must say, it has opened up quite nicely with airtime, and was very thick, chewy and flavorful last night. I was less than impressed at first, but I have come around on the 1920 and think it is legit.

First some ECBP #7 and now some Blanton's SFTB. The 2015 Blanton is the winner tonight.

Cheers !

Jealous. Dare I ask which one is better tonight?

A healthy pour of OWA for myself.

Elijah Craig - single barrel, 10yrs. Fantastic stuff. Has the classic underpinnings of EC - those round caramel flavors with a backbone of wood spice - but the spice is stronger in a good way. A lot stronger. It warms the chest (I only note that because it's unusual for me to feel that anymore) and the finish goes on for a longer time than standard EC. This is a great pick.

  That's a tough question...

The ORVW10/107 was a great opener & the WLW 135.4 was a great closer.

I hope your enjoying the OWA. It's one of favorites!

Old Forester single barrel barrel proof. This is incredibly compelling stuff. They should really make this a thing. Enthusiasts would go crazy for it.

Congrats on scoring the bottles in the picture, No Hope in St. Louis of that.

Went to my brothers, Saturday night, and brought 3 bottles (he put out some nice stuff but we didn't bring it downstairs). I brought JW Dant, Fighting Cock, and Very Old Barton. I'd opened the Dant a couple of weeks earlier, wasn't impressed. What a couple of weeks does thought. It was fantastic, a really good low end bourbon. The fighting cock is very buttery and I'm looking forward to seeing if being opened doesn't develop it further in a week or two. The Very Old Barton is right up there with Weller Reserve, but a different taste profile, was gifted by buddies who picked it up in Ark. Banana Bread and I'll throw in Mexican Coke, when you swish a little in your mouth, after the bubbles are gone. Really good stuff.

Love this tasting note.

Last night I revisited a bottle of Russel's Reserve Single Barrel that I opened a couple months ago but have let it get pushed to the back of the shelf. I added about 5 drops of water to my ~3oz pour, which brought out some interesting spice notes beyond the cinnamon I noticed last time. I'll probably need a couple more pours to identify the spices I'm tasting, but this one is opening up nicely.
