FC103 6yr age stated - spicy and let's you know you've got something with some body to it right off the bat and finishes strong.  Not bad for $50

$50 seems high??

Had a nice pour of the last bottle I own of the HHSS (second round of SB.com picks).     Alas what a lovely pour, and what a stellar finish this has.    It just goes on and on.

I'm bummed that I have only about two more pours left in this last bottle.     I shall miss it like few other whiskies I've ever tasted.

On the bright side... I do have two more nice pours from this wonderful bottle to look forward to.   YAY!

Nothing.

After two barrel picks on Thursday, another two on Friday, and the Jim Rutledge event on Saturday, I'm saturated and need to tap out for a few days to let the old palate recover. Whew!

Started off with a "new" Old Bardstown, then some OWA, and finishing off with a pour from a forgotten bottle of Booker's with about an inch left in. Batch C03-I-17, 128 proof, 7 yrs 4 mos. 2011?  It's the bottle that got me started on high proof bourbons. It's not nearly as big as I remember and has lost a bit of its bite but it still has that Booker's fullness to it.  When I took a whiff of the bottle I got that Beam funk blast.

Meant to say not bad for <$20 and even better than multiple other bottles at >$50

Anyway this is my pour again this evening - killed this bottle but have a case in waiting

Just had a couple of fingers pour of FRSB out on the deck while I grilled steaks.  A crisp 43* outside while I grilled, so the pour was very tasty and warming.

Two nights ago I rebounded from an off-palate night and had a pour of ECBP followed by WSR. Both were outstanding. I have a good amount of WSR on hand and find it quite ordinary to lacking. I had resolved to finish what I have and not rebuy but it was really good coming after the EC. I'm going to have to try that combination again. Last night, I had a small pour of ER10 with some pecan pie. The whiskey was good but didn't blend well with the pecan pie, which surprised me. Maybe it was my dinner. This bottle of ER is a good one so some other variable was affecting me.

Very tasty, but the tip of my tongue was scorched by the time I reached the bottom of the glass! Maybe a splash of water next time...

My wife puts bourbon IN her pecan pie, usually Maker's Mark... best pecan pie I've ever had! I'm betting the WSR would be a good fit to add to the pie as well.

It was FC103 - 6yr last night to finish off that bottle then moved on to IWH15 which is another open bottle I'm working on finishing off

I'm joining the cult tonight. I'm having the last couple of pours of a ps FRSB.

 

Like Hop, this is before the election results start coming in. As the results start coming in, it'll probably be something cask strength. :ph34r:

Hah.  I have vivid memories of playing that song on repeat for like an hour about ten years ago.  I still do like it a lot.  Probably the best Wallflowers effort to date.

Emptying a 50ml Maker's while cursing the over-priced hotel bar pours (but laughing that the liquor store down the street had a nice selection of minis at a reasonable price!)
