Enjoying a nice pour of this BRL barrel strength.  It's essentially an 8yr OESV distilled by MGP, 5 barrel small batch.  Good amount of spice neat...add a tiny bit of water and the fruit really comes out.  For the IN guys that didn't reserve this it's well worth the 49.99.

Still grappling with this Willett distilled WFE 4yr. It's been tasting to young with those barrel notes I get from too young HH and sometimes from craft whiskey. It's better tonight. I'm not sure if it's evolved a little now that it's been open a while or if I've changed. (Probably the latter). First sip tonight at full barrel proof (113.something) was literal cinnamon red hots. It was uncanny. With a few drops added, the cinnamon is still there but some vanilla is coming through. It's not a classic profile, but it's interesting. Now curious to see if it evolves further. I think at 6 years this will be really good. Of course it will cost $60-$70 by then so may not be worth it.

Enjoying tasting all the WLW, CEHT, BT #2, Dickel, (threat of Pappy) through your'all taste buds.

7 days into self imposed abstinence with another 22 to go. Please hurry up March!

In the meanwhile I'll keep popping in to enjoy all I'm missing.:P

having a late night SAOS 10 BS 59.3%,  second visit to the bottle.  really liking it

I have seen quite a bit of positive comments about SAOS on several different discussion threads. I am going to put it near the top of my list of next bottle to purchase.

Bought this over a year ago, said I would share with my boy when he graduated. He graduated HS yesterday so we opened the bottle and it is soooo good.4078db4005c289d32bee04f644e5f13a.jpg

I know prior releases have been bad, but I tried Woodford Master collection Brandy finished this weekend and really liked it.

Since I added another bottle to the bunker today decided to have some ER10 tonight.  Been drinking mostly barrel proof or high proof lately so this is going down really smooth.

KCSB (13 year old, PS), 1792 SmB, Rowan's Creek, WTRB, OF 1920, and (not bourbon) CC 100 rye.  The winner was the OF 1920 followed by the KCSB

To bad it's a week night (or we would have kept going)! :P

off the next two days. had a fatty of HH BIB gold, followed by some WFE rye 3 year BP while munching mixed nuts with the dog. She's not down with the bourbon, but loves the nuts.

as a side note, I thought HH quit making HH BIB gold, yet Ive found two stores, at least, who continually restock the 1.75's of gold label. at $19-21 a 1.75, I'll keep buying them!

Revisited my bottle of '08 WTKS. Damn is this stuff good. So glad I have 2 more bottles in the bunker as this one is starting to run low.

It's another wheater night. I've been having a lot of these as of late. I suppose fishnbowljoe is rubbing off on me. I finished my bottle of RY10yr SiB a week or so ago so I'm making do with 1792 Sweet Wheat and the ever reliable OWA. The Sweet Wheat is really working for me with a creamy Werther's toffee thing coming through strongly. The OWA is not as creamy but is just as rich. It has a particularly thick mouthfeel tonight. Not bad for a whiskey that is likely less than 7yrs old.
