I wonder in which theater(s) this future Oscar Winner will debut?

It will be on Amazon and other video on demand services tomorrow.

Whichever one they are talking about at any given time.  Keep the remote handy for the pause button!

Am super-excited by this...  First, we're getting it here in Australia, and second, it's already released thanks to the time zone differences.  The 1080p version is downloading to my Ipad as I type :)

Expecting a review. I work tomorrow so it’ll be about 9:30 before I can watch.

Uh, FWIW, Amazon lets you RENT it for $6, and you have 5 days to watch it.  I just started.  Is it my bourbon-nerd/geekness showing, or is this movie as good as I think it is?  Photography is excellent and as eyecatching as that Flying Over America series.  Hold the laptop close to your face, and you'd swear you were watching an IMAX.  Steve Zahn made me spit bourbon all over my keyboard when he first showed up - just warning you all.  Scary part - I KNEW who some of the speakers were just by their voices and visages (fancy word for faces), not to mention which bourbons were in the background in spite of their fuzziness because of the shape of the bottle and label and closure (new Wellers are in there, for example) - all of which tells me I'm spending too much time on the minutiae instead of just enjoying what's in my glass.  Although I do that, too, so . . .

Edit - THANK YOU, Mako - this makes cleaning the basement SO much more fun.

Edit 2 - It was JB Bonded I was drinking.  Good thing I had the bottle close by for refliiing.  Good thing I'm cleaning the basement, too.  I'll get to the spot and keyboard  later.

I was surprised there wasn’t more chatter about this. I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks.

Going to crack a couple of samples I have been saving. 97 split label 12 yr turkey and RR sample for a barrel picking group.

It may not be an in depth history and how-to movie, but it was thoroughly entertaining, contained sufficient info to satisfy and educate newbies, and was visually stimulating.  If it does get wide distribution, it might just make the current boom last just a bit longer.  I did like how most of the distillers kept talking about how, in five to ten years (from 2017, I'm guessing), we'll have plenty of bourbon.  Oh, I hope so.:)

A Wonderful Documentary with high production values. What a waste to have Steve Zahn involved - TOTALLY unnecessary IMHO.   I like Steve Zahn, but he brought very little to the story (and likely a higher expense for the production - which was passed on to the consumer I’m sure).  It was really carried by Freddie Johnson ( Buffalo Trace) and Marianne Barnes (Castle and Key) - and yet they get little recognition in the credits.  What a shame too, as without them, the story would have been far less compelling.

It only runs 1:15 mins, so doubtful it will be in any theaters.  Probably online only.

I realize you couldn't tell; but, I was kidding.  :)

It was worth the $4.99 to rent it or you can "buy it" via download for $12.99.  The DVD on Amazon is $25 - and I just can't see that it's worth paying that much.

OK, I had to Google Steve Zahn, but immediately recognized Freddie Johnson and Marianne Barnes’ names...Surely, a secondary symptom of advanced Whiskirexia Nervosa...:D

I look forward to seeing this.  Perhaps a viewing on the GN Back 40 during Sampler should be arranged?

I did, too, and I still have no clue who he is.  I mean, I understand he's an actor but I don't recognize him one bit.

Maybe we should see about using the GN "conference" room one evening for a viewing with tables to assemble the usual sampling that normally occurs in the gazebo.

I liked it. Could certainly tell they were targeting the 21-30ish crowd but I enjoyed it over all.

Havent seen it yet, but looked on Google Movies ($3.99 to rent) & saw its available in 4k. Im sure it was shot in 4k, beings some of the cameras are now affordable as long as you can deal with their bugs & the large amounts of raw media data. Look forward to seeing it!
