Celebrating my Fantasy football championship. Lost OBJ and Gurley to injury, but Robby Anderson and Jamaal Williams filled in nicely.

OGD86 1988. Cola and shiso and cherry on the nose and vanilla on the palate. Very nice whiskey although 86pf is well below what I usually drink so takes some effort not to drink too fast.

Tonight, this is hitting all the right spots with me.   It’s so well balanced.

I've been making Old Fashioned cocktails more often, and have been trying different whiskies.  WTRye 101, KCSB SP, and a blend of EWSB / ER10 / KC 9.  I enjoy the blend the most.

Finally getting to this bottle, very nice, really like the color, nice oakyness, vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco, really nice sweetness.

Just trying out my Christmas present on a bottle I completely forgot I had. Not a bourbon but definitely a Christmas Rye.

As promised in my thread about Christmas Eve and Day bourbons, last night I cracked open Joe's 2018 Weller Blend. Fantastic.

We had six friends over for Christmas Eve dinner and I made boulevardiers for those who wanted one and then a couple of us had a pour of TWCP 11yr 2mo OESV. After everyone left and we finished cleaning up I ended the evening with Joe's blend in a moment of quiet contemplation.

The day is still young here on the west coast so I'm kicking it off with PVW15 since my palate is fresh. I hesitate to say too much positive about it lest I contribute to the hype, but really, there's really nothing like it out there. It remains my favorite of the VW lineup.

I'll stick with the wheater theme throughout the day. I have some WLW's to dip into - '16, '17, and a just acquired '18. Wouldn't surprise me if some GTS made an appearance. 'Tis the day for the big guns.

Also enjoying a pour of a Christmas gift.  Will say it is my favorite Beam product so far, but a hard purchase at the retail price

Enjoying my second pour of OFBB '18 tonight.  Really fruit forward with a very pleasing spiciness.  It hits the spot

Merry Christmas!

Been a long time since I've drank some WTRB, maybe 3 yrs. or so. This is my first bottle of this, to me, new barrel proof, and it's changed again since (no bottles of it). Do have another bottle of this one though. This has always been a favorite, and still is with the changes. Still at a reasonable price I believe around here.
