Today was a surprisingly long day for a weekend. I’m getting into the right frame of mind now with a MF FdA, CB Juveniles, and Steve Earle on the porch.

Writer’s Tears Copper Pot Irish out back with Braves on the radio, Padron 2000, and a fire, to put me in a super-chill frame of mind.

Cracked into Laphroig CS batch 10.  I'm sure this is nothing profound to those more acclimated to scotch but wow this is really good!  So much going on but at the same time, so integrated and balanced.  The finish just goes on and on...

At $60, it's going to be easy to justify this over a lot of options in the bourbon aisle.

I drink plenty of scotch and I"m right there with you, it's a fantastic pour at a great price for today's economics.

Laphroaig 10 CS is a monumental pour.

Experimenting a bit more with Scotch and cheese. So far strong sherry/sulfur works, heavy smoke works. No success with lighter drams, but my cheese is also mostly on the sharp, aged, and overall stinky side ;)

Stanky cheese and stanky scotch are made for each other.

A wee Dalmore 15 with dinner at the hotel bar. I thought it might not fare well with the meal— but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Killed the Dalmore 15 before heading to SFO on my way to SEATAC— looking forward to one of my favorite bottle shops, but not the taxes, taxes and taxes.

G&M Linkwood 15 at Von’s 1000 Spirits in Seattle. Looking for a few hidden gems within the bottle clutter...

Thanks, I’m scheduled to take a red eye tomorrow night— if I can get everything done.

On to a 2004 OB Littlemill 12– the veteran bartender said the bottle’s been on the backbar the entire time and this was the second to last pour. Oxidation has only served to improve this one.

With lingering effects of allergies scotch is tasting better than bourbon, so enjoying 2015 Flaming Heart while watching the Masters.

The charcoal is firing up for dogs and brats for family movie night. Sitting on the back patio with a OV Melanio petite corona and a pour of Compass Box Juveniles.

Highland Park 12. This and Laphroaig 10 may be my Scotch value pour equivalent to WT101.

Have you ever thought of having a "Whisky Fest" at your house?
