Passed on an Archives Heaven Hill. It was barrel proof and 9 years so it caught my eye but $90 felt steep for that to me when ECPB is $65. I might have talked myself into it for $75.

Oh I’d be tempted by this, guessing it’s essentially single barrel BS HH. Wondering if the profile is closer to EW or EC.

I passed on a bottle of the new WT Rye @ $175. I love WT but that’s a bit steep for a single bottle.

Whichever.  We don't see that out here (well, other than private label NAS 80 proof HH).  I'd have picked up one just because those things are rare out here.

I’ve been passing on a lone KCSiB 12yr 9 mo that somehow made it into my local grocery store. I moved it to the back of the row behind the regulars to give myself some time to think if I want to go back and get it. $42.99 so not a terrible price.

What is your reservation on pulling the trigger?  Not a KC fan?

I'd also grab this.  Word is prices are going up in the next year.  Something like $55-60ish is the rumor I am hearing

I already have a couple unopened store picks. Limited space in Chicago apartments. No basement I can hide things away in.

These Goose Island picks were floating around 2 years ago. Not sure how it made it this long and ended up in my local Jewel, but it was still there when I ran down to get it. Glad I have a few now if that price hike rumor is true. Which I fully believe it is the way everything else has been going.

So today I spotted some 1.75L of Old Forester Signature (clear label with block letters).  My experience with that label - earlier releases were good, later release no.

Should I gamble $38 plus tax to find out.  What say you fine folks?

When I first saw this I thought "wow, that's odd they put all of those bottles in Knob Creek display cases."  Then I realized they are just really small minis....

Just kidding, I realize they are reflections of bottles from another shelf.

The box in the lower right has a full size bottle, and some windows PC icons in the glass...

I will do you the favor of voting no before the horde says yes as per tradition around these parts, this crowd has never been good at assisting with self control ;)

I would probably grab it for the chance that it contains the earlier (and tastier!) distillate, as well as for the bargain that it represents.   Bear in mind OFS was always a favorite of mine, as well as the fact that even the 'second class' stuff was still decent, and certainly worth mixing in about any cocktail or highball.   Of course your own space limitations, and financial situation must be considered as well.

Yes.  I enjoy most of Old forester and think the Signature is very good. It’s a sweet, easy drinking pour and worth $38 to find out if you like the profile.
