dgonano
Dane, You were too busy at the gazebo handing out all the bourbons you brought with you and looking for the lost ones. You should have brought it to our attention and we would have picked up a bottle for you. Binnys had the Tribute listed 2 wks ago for about $78 and it was delisted last week. Oh well ! So much of a good thing.
gr8erdane
Dave, I appreciate that you would have done so for me but at the time I had asked my local shop to pick up a couple of bottles for me and thought they might be able to do so. At the price they would have to pay the middle man, I didn't want them to be stuck with bottles it would have taken my budget a while to recover enough to be able to pick up. I then focused on those bourbons I knew were not available in my area or were no longer produced. I had no idea that Missouri was such a black hole for bourbon sales that we would only get two bottles. However, alls well that ends well, I hope. BTW, I had heard this weekend that Binnys had Tribute but couldn't find it at that time either. They must have sold out in record time. I'm looking forward to a short weekend trip to Tennessee soon if all works out. Been wanting to visit Shiloh for a long time.
TNbourbon
Dane is set. I snatched him a couple of Tributes today at $88 each (after sales tax) in Nashville. I'm taste-testing it right now as I write this. (Swallow your heart, Dane -- I'm kidding! )
LeNell
I just bought 11 of the 13 6/bottle cases in NY. Anybody need some, just lemme know, and I'll see what I can do for you.
musher
Great score! Considering that you have the largest bourbon selection in NYC, it only seems right! If only you were franchised to MN too!Heck, I may well have the largest bourbon selection in the state of MN! Certainly more than any restaurant! (I always love when I ask a bartender what they've got for bourbon, and they say "you name it." My usual response is "don't go there," and let them know that I have almost two dozen different bourbons . . . I'm usually lucky if they have WT101, and often, the best they have is JB White label). LeNell
Yeah, I've been helping a few bars around the hood build up their selection. It's exciting to find somebody that actually has something special like the Tribute behind the bar instead of just WT 80.
LeNell
Well, I thought I was gonna land 11 of the 13, but I actually got 7. Excited to have a pile in my floor right now...someone keep me away from them.
jeff
Up for auction on ebay is the Japanese version of WT Tribute in the Kentucky Spirit bottle. Check it out and good luck!
kgiammarco
Don't get too excited if you're thinking you may get that bottle for $150 (plus the outrageous $34 shipping)... The previous auction for a japanese legend ended at $338!! On top of that, I emailed the guy selling it and got no response... Even if i had $372 to burn on a bottle like that I would be worried to buy from someone like that...
doubleblank
Well.....my favorite local retailer, Specs, has come through once again. They had a 6 bottle case of Tribute on the shelf. But not at the megastore downtown, but their local outpost about two miles from my house. Picked up two for the bunker......now I can start drinking my other bottle. Price .....$72 before my cash discount. I've really enjoyed this bourbon each time I've had it ... Now I can enjoy it more regularly.Randy
