Paradox
Tribute is due here around October/November. At least we have a general timeframe to look forward to now, Thanks LeNell. Too bad those going to the WT thing on Thursday won't be able to get them signed though... How's that saying go about piss poor planning equaling something? gr8erdane
Just returned from my local retailer where I requested she try to reserve a bottle or two of Tribute and she called her distributor. She was told that the majority of this offering was being distributed on the east coast and that if available it would be around the holidays. Not knowing the price or case size, I boldly told her if she could get a case I would guarantee its sale. Here's hoping I haven't just mortgaged my home. Paradox
She was told that the majority of this offering was being distributed on the east coast Wow, I find that one amazing. Actually, what's more shocking is they are actually doing it in the US and not Duty Free!

Here's hoping I haven't just mortgaged my home. I hear this special Tribute tribute will be packaged in a tasteful (and tasty) case of 50 bottles -- one for each year of Jimmy Russell's service to the flock. Well done, Dane!!! TNbourbon
And, I believe the price per bottle is $101, Jimmy Russell's favorite proof! Way to go, Dane -- great buy!
bobbyc
Why not call her back, Dane, and order 2 cases!
LeNell
Hey, why not just order a barrel and be a dear and distribute holiday gifts to the rest of us nuts! Seriously, though, good for you for taking the leap. I wish I had a customer walk in and say the same!
wadewood
I sent in a WA state special order form requesting a case of Tribute and a case of 2005 Stagg. I sent this forms in before and have not had a response, so I'm not holding my breath.

Paradox
Who the hell knows with WT at this point!? They'll probably release this one to us for something like $100 and then do one for DFS at half that!
bourbonmed
Guys, A lot depends on how / when the various distributors place their orders. Over 200 of the available 800 cases have shipped. Some distributors may not be placing their orders until later, but it's hard to imagine they'd wait until November. We'll see... Omar

bobbyc
Geez, Dane, I thought I was joking! No kidding and it looks like the 50 bottle case has been superceded by a 30 bottle case. Call her and order 3 cases Dane!
angelshare
I agree with you - $100 is ridiculous enough that it should be a joke, anyway.I'm curious - who here if given the chance is buying Tribute, and if buying, how many bottles? Has anybody actually purchased it yet?Personally, I was much less excited about it at $100/bottle.
TNbourbon
...who here if given the chance is buying Tribute, and if buying, how many bottles?Let's see, Jimmy Russell's "Russell Reserve" for under $30, or Jimmy Russell's "Tribute" for around $100? Let's just say there's a big difference between me wanting to pay tribute to Jimmy Russell and Wild Turkey demanding tribute to honor Jimmy Russell. That's a good point , Tim. I'm taking a wait and see on this one, It's getting easier by far for me to control the knee jerk wallet grabbing reflex. Hell at a Hundred bucks they are doing the work for me. Seriously, Bookers 10th anniversary was nearing this height. Missed that one too.
Paradox
Not sure how true this may be but I just got word that the state of KY has been alloted 50 cases of the Tribute and 38 are already sold... I am still trying to find out if a case of these is 12, 6, or 3 bottles but I would guess either 6 or 12... Also it was described to me as a Russells Reserve 15 year old Tribute. Since I have not seen a bottle yet I wonder if it resembles a bottle of RR 10yo in any way...

Paradox
Thanks Omar I've heard they should be in wooden cases too... Man, I gotta see one of these. I only wish the price was a bit more 'attainable'.
