I had two ATL layovers this week and their Sky Clubs are bustling. Felt good.

Well, the JW Gold used to be a home run, but they changed the blend 3 or 4 years ago, and changed the branding? Too bad.

HP 18 is my no. 1 Scotch. By far.

Not Scotch, but a good break from Bourbon, Tullamore Dew Phoenix, 55% ABV. The typical subtle Irish flavor, mind you.

Woah that’s one old batch. Why slow, is there something you don’t like about it, or?

As someone who had pathological flight anxiety all my life I never thought I’d say this but... I miss the airport drinking experience.

I'm having some Famous Grouse.  It's tasting pretty good tonight.  I think the bottle improved a bit after it sat after a few pours.

Well, I have enjoyed a variety of Scotch single malts (and blends for that matter) over the years, but this particular bottling is heavier on the Sherry-influence than I generally prefer.

Nothing special, but I have pretty much stuck to beer, ET BIB and WTR101 since Spring as I had the rest of my stash packed up while in rental/remodel mode. A couple of small exceptions like CEHT BP and Little Book 2, only because they didn't fit in my boxes, haha. Finally moved and celebrated by randomly opening a box, and blindly pulling this bottle. Good to have some/any scotch after several months. May do another random pull again tonight.

Just poured some of this myself from a bottle that's been open for a couple of months. A smokey fruit bomb it is. Very nice.

Good description. This plus the salted vanilla note that keeps me going back for another sip.

Followed up the Ardbog with some Oogy. Sweet and peat night for sure. They are definitely sweet in a totally different way...Manzanilla vs Oloroso.

Went to drop something off at a buddy’s house today and he offered me inside for a socially distanced whiskey.

He pulled this out.

I’m not normally one for scotch, but not wanting to be rude, I took the drink.

I like this a lot.

Next we tried a JW 21 year in a fancy looking bottle.  That was delicious as well.

Perhaps I do like some scotch.

Mr Harper saluting this fallen Canuck for all of the fine work he did. I believe I heard him say, “I salute you my Northern neighbor!  You are one of the finest whiskies Doofuss over there taking this picture had the privilege of drinking this year...ahem...Two of your brothers stand ready in the bunker, ready to meet the challenges of the New Year.  Like you, I am confident that they will perform in similar fine fashion.  Any American whiskey drinker would be honored to have your service on their bar...OK Dipshit, you may put the phone down now, and drink before you hurt yourself...”
